A geo-polymeric concrete and a process for preparing the geo-polymeric concrete is disclosed. The geo-polymeric concrete includes class F fly ash in a range from 10-20 wt %, of the design mix river sand in a range from 25-40 wt % of the design mix, a natural aggregate in a range from 15 to 40 wt % of the design mix, silica fume in a range from 1 to 2 wt % of class F fly ash, an alkaline activator solution and a superplasticizer in a range from 0.5 to 3 wt %. The materials used for preparing the superplasticizer are easily available in the market in abundance at a reasonable cost. The superplasticizer is economically viable and improves the workability of the geo-polymeric concrete. The presence of the superplasticizer does not affect the compressive strength of the geo-polymeric concrete.

Development of alcoholic sucrose-based superplasticizer for geo-polymeric concrete and its process thereof

A nanoadsorbent based filter is used for purification of fluoride and arsenic contaminated water. 140-150 g low cost (&#x2dc;10 USD/kg) nanoparticles of gamma alumina of 20-25 mg/g fluoride and 25-30 mg/g arsenic adsorption capacity is incorporated in propylene filter without susceptibility of leaching incorporated nanoparticles in water. The cost of domestic defluoridation device containing low cost nanoalumina incorporated filters/cartridges along with housing, overhead tank, tubing and treated water storage container etc. is of very low cost of around 25 USD/device. The fluoride treatment cost would be &#x3c;0.5 USD/100 lit for 4-5 mg/l fluoride water after 2-3 regenerations while, the arsenic treatment cost using domestic filtration device would be &#x3c;0.25 USD/100 lit for 90-100 &#x3bc;g/l arsenic (III) water. A method incorporates nanoadsorbent in a sediment removal filter candle and provides a household defluoridation device capable of treatment of fluoride and arsenic contaminated ground/drinking water without electricity.

The present invention provides a nano phosphatic hybrid geopolymeric corrosion resistant coating material. The tailored precursor of corrosion resistant coating material is obtained by a process involving, together dry grinding of raw materials fly ash, sodium hydroxide, rice husk, tri calcium phosphate and cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide optionally with sodium silicate, in solid powder form. The developed coating material obtained by adding water to tailored precursor contains nano sized phosphatic compounds of Cancrisilite (sodium aluminum carbonate silicate hydrate), quartz, mullite, heamatite, sodium aluminum silicate, Herschelite (sodium aluminum silicate hydrate), Sucrose, &#x3b1; D-Glucose, Native cellulose, and phenol, responsible for providing improved corrosion resistant properties and adhesion to the mild steel substrates. The geo-polymeric coating material is used as an anti-corrosive, heat resistant coating material on various materials e.g. mild steel substrates.
