A multi-column tension leg platform is an offshore floating structure that is used to facilitate production of natural resources contained below the seabed. The multi-column tension leg platform includes a hull which is used to keep the entire structure afloat. The structure also includes a topside which is mounted to the top of the hull. The topside is used as a surface for supporting workers and equipment. The hull is made up of a plurality of flotation columns and a plurality of pontoons. Both the plurality of flotation columns and the plurality of pontoons are positioned about a vertical central axis of the topside. The plurality of flotation columns and the plurality of pontoons are buoyant structures that are aligned vertically and are used to keep the topside above water. The plurality of pontoons is mounted amongst the plurality of flotation columns.

Multi-column tension leg platform

A tension-leg platform anchoring system is used to tether the columns of a floating platform to the seabed and restrict movement of the entire platform. The tension-leg platform anchoring system includes a topside and a plurality of anchored floating supports. The topside provides a deck for supporting workers and equipment. The anchored floating supports are used to keep the topside afloat and limit movement. The anchored floating support includes a column, at least one mooring assembly, and an anchor. The column is connected to the topside and is used to keep the tension-leg platform afloat. The mooring assembly includes a column coupler, a first tendon, and an anchor coupler, which are used together to tether the column to the anchor. The column coupler is tethered to the anchor coupler through the first tendon, which is connected to the column by the column coupler.

Tension-leg platform anchoring system

A platform for offshore drilling and/or production operations comprises an equipment deck. In addition, the platform comprises a buoyant hull coupled to the equipment deck and configured to extend below the surface of the water. The hull comprises a first column having a central axis, an upper end coupled to the deck, a lower end distal the deck, and a plurality of axially stacked cells between the upper end and the lower end. Each cell defining an inner chamber within the cell and an exterior region outside the cell. The plurality of cells includes a first cell extending from the upper end of the first sub-column and a second cell axially positioned below the first cell. The first cell is water-tight. Further, the second cell includes a gas port configured to supply a buoyancy control gas to the inner chamber of the second cell.

Unconditionally stable floating offshore platform

An articulated flowline connection, or coupling, between a flowline and a structure. In some embodiments, the coupling includes a housing and three cylindrical members, each disposed within the housing. The housing has a first longitudinal centerline. The first cylindrical member is rotatable relative to the housing about the first centerline, the first cylindrical member supporting the flowline, whereby the flowline is rotatable about the first centerline relative to the housing. The second cylindrical members are immovable relative to the structure. The housing and the first cylindrical member disposed therein are rotatable about a second axis normal to the first centerline relative to the second and third cylindrical members, whereby the flowline is rotatable about the second axis relative to the structure. In some embodiments, the flowline is also rotatable about a third axis normal to the first centerline and the second axis relative to the coupling.

Articulated flowline connection

A semi-submersible offshore structure for offshore operations. In an embodiment, the structure comprises a buoyant hull. The hull comprises a first elongate horizontal pontoon having a longitudinal axis, a first end, and a second end. The pontoon includes a first node disposed at the first end of the pontoon, a second node disposed at the second end of the pontoon, and an intermediate section extending axially from the first node to the second node. Moreover, the first node has a width W, the second node has a width W, and the intermediate section has a width Wmeasured perpendicular to the longitudinal axis in bottom view. The width Wvaries moving axially from the first node to the second node.
