Heat-resisting alloy for rolls for glass forming

A roll, for high temperature service in continuous slab casting, has having its sleeve shrinkage-fitted onto the roll shaft under tight contact state, wherein the alloy composition of the sleeve as expressed in % by weight is as follows. The principal components are:

Assembly roll for high temperature service

A continuous casting roll comprises a roll body having a cooling water bore coaxially therewith, and a sleeve fitted around the roll body and having one end fixed to the roll body and the other end as a free end. The roll body has a trunk portion and a shaft portion at each end of the trunk portion. A plurality of cooling water channels provided between the trunk portion and the sleeve extend in parallel axially thereof and have opposite ends in communication with the water bore. The sleeve is fitted around the roll body by a shrink fit the interference of which decreases steadily from the fixed end toward the free end to permit free thermal deformation of the sleeve toward the free end.

Roll for continuous casting

A method of refining the structure of the straight tube portions at the ends of an elbow made of cast stainless steel characterized in that a cast stock tube of a cast austenitic stainless steel with its chemical composition so adjusted as to have the ferrite phase mixed in in the proportion of 5-40% is formed, with the straight tube portions at its ends made larger or smaller than the specified dimension; the said straight tube portions are formed roughly to the specified dimensions by subjecting them to a plastic deformation either by a process of contraction or expansion, and thereafter, the tube thus formed is heated at 1,000.degree.-1,200.degree. C., and then, quenched.

Manufacturing method of elbows made of cast stainless steel

A method of producing stainless steel products superior in intergranular corrosion resistance and applicable to ultrasonic flaw detection, in which austenite group stainless cast steel containing 5 to 40% of ferrite phase is employed as base material, part or all of which base material is subjected to plastic deformation or plastic processing such as pulling, pressing, bending, tension processing and the like, with subsequent recrystallizing heat treatment for the improvement of intergranular corrosion resistance by making its cast structure fine and reducing surface roughening developed due to deformation during the plastic processing, and for making it possible to successfully apply ultrasonic flaw detection to such cast steel products.
