A case for an electronic device can include a case body including an exterior surface and an interior surface, the interior surface being positioned opposite the exterior surface. The case can additionally include a button body positioned at least partially within the case body between the exterior surface and the interior surface, the button body being movable inward and outward relative to the case body along an axis of button travel. The case can further include a biasing structure having a contact surface configured to contact the button body, the biasing structure configured to bias the button body toward the interior surface along the axis of button travel.

An electronic device can include a metallic housing defining an interior that contains one or more systems of the electronic device. The metallic housing can further define a pocket within the metallic housing separated from the interior. The pocket can have a window to an exterior of the metallic housing to facilitate wireless power transfer. An electronic device can include a non-metallic housing defining an interior that contains one or more systems of the electronic device and a wireless power transfer module that further includes a metallic structure defining a receptacle separated from the interior housing. The receptacle can have at least one open side to facilitate wireless power transfer. In either case, the wireless power transfer coil can be disposed at least partially or completely within the pocket or receptacle.

Systems and methods for optical imaging are disclosed. An optical sensor for imaging a biometric input object on a sensing region includes a transparent layer having a first side and a second side opposite the first side; a set of apertures disposed above the first side of the transparent layer; a first set of reflective surfaces disposed below the second side of the transparent layer configured to receive light transmitted through the first set of apertures and to reflect the received light; a second set of reflective surfaces disposed above the first side of the transparent layer configured to receive the light reflected from the first set of reflective surfaces and to further reflect the light; and a plurality of detector elements positioned to receive the further reflected light from the second set of reflective surfaces.

A touch panel includes an array of touch electrode cells, each touch electrode cell including portions of a plurality of touch electrodes, such as portions of intersecting row and column touch electrodes that include a patterned conductive material. In some examples, the area of patterned conductive material per unit area can be different for different touch electrode cells of the touch panel. For example, the touch panel can include touch electrode cells with increased pattern densities at locations where the overall area of the touch electrode cell may be less than the overall area of other touch electrode cells in the touch panel, such as at corners, notches, perforations, and/or edges of the touch panel.

Systems and methods for optical imaging are disclosed. An optical sensor includes: an image sensor array comprising a plurality of pixels; and a collimator filter disposed above the image sensor array, the collimator filter comprising a plurality of light collimating apertures and light blocking material, wherein multiple light collimating apertures of the plurality of light collimating apertures are disposed within a photosensitive area of one of the pixels in the plurality of pixels, and wherein the multiple light collimating apertures are disposed over different portions of the photosensitive area of the one of the pixels.

Systems and methods for optical imaging using an optical sensor in an active area of the display are described. The optical sensor includes a set of detector elements positioned in a detector plane; a transparent layer; and a set of first reflective surfaces in the transparent layer. Each reflective surface in the first set of reflective surfaces is positioned to receive light from a portion of a sensing region of the display and to reflect the received light. The optical sensor further includes a second set of reflective surfaces, each reflective surface in the second set of reflective surfaces is positioned to receive the transmitted light from the first set of reflective surfaces, and to further reflect the received light towards one of the set of detector elements.

Disclosed is a device for optical sensing, comprising: a display comprising a transparent substrate and a plurality of light emitters disposed above the transparent substrate; a transparent cover layer disposed above the display, wherein a top surface of the transparent cover layer provides an input surface for sensing an input object; and, an angled filter disposed below the transparent substrate of the display, wherein the angled filter is configured to allow light within a tolerance angle of an acceptance angle to pass through the angled filter, wherein the acceptance angle is centered around a non-zero angle relative to a normal of the input surface.

Embodiments herein describe an input device that includes a rectangular array of sensor electrodes connected to sensor modules that measure capacitive sensing signals corresponding to the electrodes. When performing code division multiplexing (CDM), multiple sensor electrodes are coupled to the same sensor module. As such, the sensor module generates a measurement that represents the sum of the charges on the sensor electrodes rather than an individual charge on a single sensor electrode. By repeatedly sensing multiple sensor electrodes in parallel, the input device can determine a change of capacitance for each individual sensor electrode.

Systems and methods for optical imaging are disclosed. The systems and methods include a display for imaging an input object. The display includes a sensing surface; a plurality of display pixels; a plurality of detector pixels; and a processing system. The processing system is configured to determine a location of the input object relative to the sensing surface; illuminate one or more display pixels of the plurality of display pixels according to a pattern depending on the location of the input object; and acquire image data of the input object from one or more detector pixels of the plurality of detector pixels, wherein the image data corresponds to light from the one or more display pixels that is reflected at the sensing surface.

Embodiments described herein include an input device including an array of sensing pixels configured to sense an input object in a sensing region, each of the sensing pixels including a sense element. Each of the sensing pixels also includes a first transistor, wherein the first transistor includes a gate terminal connected to a row select line and a second terminal connected to the sense element.
