A light engine for a floodlight includes a first subassembly for light emitting diodes (LEDs) and a second subassembly providing a housing for a driver. The first subassembly includes upper and lower mounting hinge arms at one side and the second subassembly includes upper and lower left hinge pins respectively extending from upper and lower left arms and upper and lower right hinge pins respectively extending from upper and lower right arms. The first subassembly can be mounted by the upper and lower mounting hinge arms on either side of the second subassembly, creating a reversible opening for access to the driver. The upper and lower mounting hinge arms can have a shape with respect to the hinge pins to provide a safety stopper. The lower mounting hinge arm can include a recess that catches against a lower arm to prevent automatically closing once in an open position.

The present disclosure is directed to a mounting bracket for mounting a driver to a housing of a luminaire, generally comprising a base member configured for attaching the mounting bracket to the housing of the luminaire and a pair of flanges extending laterally from the base member, each flange defining a clamp portion for engaging the driver to releasably attach the driver to the mounting bracket for mounting the driver to the housing of the luminaire.

A light device including a housing having at least one wall that defines an internal cavity. A heat sink is attached to the housing. The heat sink includes a body, a plurality of mat fins disposed about a periphery of a body, and a plurality of pin fins disposed in staggered rows on a central portion of a face of the body. The plurality of mat fins direct air in a predetermined direction to the central portion and the plurality of pin fins define a plurality of tortuous air paths along the central portion.

The at least one heat sink fin can absorb and dissipate sufficient heat to comply with applicable industry standards for the light fixture.
