In accordance with the purpose(s) of the present disclosure, as embodied and broadly described herein, the disclosure relates to an auto-injector device that can be used for injection of ophthalmological formulations. The auto-injector device can function in two stages, where a lubricious material is released in a first stage and a drug delivery composition is released in a second stage. The present disclosure provides for method of using these injector devices.

Devices and methods for intravitreal injection of substances

A BAK removal device is constructed as a plug of microparticles of a hydrophilic polymeric gel that displays a hydraulic permeability greater than 0.01 Da. The polymer hydrophilic polymeric gel comprises poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (pHEMA). The particles are 2 to 100 μm and the plug has a surface area of 30 mmto 2 mmand a length of 2 mm to 25 mm and wherein the microparticles of a hydrophilic polymeric gel has a pore radius of 3 to 60 μm.

Preservative removal from eye drops

According to some aspects, this application provides devices and methods for treating cystinosis in a patient. Removable intra-ocular devices and contact lenses containing cystine-sequestering materials effective for uptake of cystine from the eyes of a patient having cystinosis are provided. Methods of making the cystine-sequestering contact lenses are also provided.

Devices and methods for reducing cystine crystals in vivo

In one aspect, the disclosure relates to compositions for the extended release of drugs in the retina. In a further aspect, the present disclosure provides methods of preparing extended release compositions comprising a therapeutic agent for use in retinal drug delivery. In various other aspects, the present disclosure provides methods for delivery of the disclosed compositions comprising a therapeutic agent to the retina via intravitreal injection. Methods and compositions for retinal drug delivery

A particulate plug for removing a preservative from a solution, suspension, or emulsion comprising a drug is presented. The plug comprises microparticles of a homopolymer comprising a hydrophilic repeating unit or of a copolymer comprising at least one hydrophilic repeating unit and at least one hydrophobic repeating unit. The microparticles are irregular-shaped rigid aggregates and are sized and packed to yield a hydraulic permeability greater than 0.01 Da. The homopolymers have absorbed portions of a preservative to be removed and/or a drug for delivery in solution, as can the copolymer.

Preservative removal from eye drops containing hydrophilic drugs

In one aspect, the disclosure relates to drug delivery devices for the ionophoretic delivery of a therapeutic agent(s) to the eye. In some aspects, the disclosed ionophoretic ocular delivery device is configured for delivery of a therapeutic agent to the anterior portion of the eye. In various aspects, the present disclosure provides methods for treatment of an ophthalmological disorder, disease, or clinical condition by delivering a therapeutic agent(s) to the eye using a disclosed ionophoretic ocular delivery device. Methods and compositions for iontophoretic drug delivery to the eye

Aqueous nanosuspensions of cannabidiol (CBD) having improved stability, shelf life, and/or CBD content are provided, as are methods of making such nanosuspensions. The nanosuspensions include ethyl maltol as an emulsifying agent and may be manufactured by either a melt emulsification process or a solvent evaporation process. The nanosuspensions may also have an improved taste and are thus suitable for use as, e.g., beverage additives.

Nanosuspensions of cannabidiol for developing water-dispersible formulations

Disclosed herein is a composition comprising a biologically active agent; a base oil; an additional oil that is soluble in the base oil with a partition coefficient for the biologically active molecule that is at least twice that of the base oil; where the base oil and the additional oil are present in the composition in an amount effective to reduce the amount of the biologically active agent in an aqueous phase to less than 80 wt % of the amount with just the base oil present in an otherwise identical composition at the same total oil loading; a non-ionic surfactant; and water.

Method of manufacturing stable emulsions and compositions containing the same

In one aspect, the present disclosure relates to a contact lens comprising a disclosed lubricious surface layer. In a further aspect, the lubricious surface layer comprises a polyacrylamide, e.g., a poly(N,N-dimethylacrylamide. In various aspects, the lubricious surface layer is formed at the surface of a contact lens. In a further aspect, the lens can be a hydrogel lens. Methods and compositions for improved comfort contact lens

In general, the disclosure relates to methods and compositions for preparing colorants useful for preparing pigmented hydrogels. The disclosure further relates to pigmented hydrogels comprising the disclosed colorants. In some instances, the colorant is an alcohol extract of an agro-material, such as turmeric, paprika, spinach, and/or pokorny woad or the colorants comprise one or more of: a carotenoid, chlorophyll-a, chlorophyll-b, a curcumoid, or indigorubin. Alternatively, the colorant can be carbon black. The disclosure further relates to contact lenses comprising the disclosed pigmented hydrogels.

Methods and compositions for pigmented hydrogels and contact lenses

Compositions for treatment of cystinosis, products for administering eye drops, and products for storing contact lenses are provided. Compositions include solutions that can contain an effective amount of cysteamine to treat cystinosis, and an oil with a lower density than the solution. Also provided is a product including a bottle for containing a solution, the bottle being substantially free of O. Also provided is a contact lens holder for storing one or more contact lenses in a solution, the holder including barrier layers reducing the amount of Oentering the contact lens holder.
