The portable electronic device includes radiation elements (A,B) for directing optical radiation energy non-invasively at intracranial nerve tissue of a user through an external auditory canal of the user of the portable electronic device to stimulate the user's intracranial nerve tissue. Stimulation may have a metabolic and/or nervous response, which appears as a change in alertness, diurnal rhythm and in concentrations of several hormones and brain transmitters.

There is provided an arrangement, an accessory, an audio device, and at least one earpiece unit. The accessory is suitable for an audio device capable of providing an electrical audio signal. The accessory comprises first and second signal conveyers for conveying electrical audio signal driving audio transducers and electrical optic signal driving optical radiation sources, respectively. The audio transducers and the optical radiation sources are located in the earpiece unit.

A portable electronic ear light device comprising a support member and an optical radiation source resting on the support member and a light guide for directing optical radiation energy non-invasively at the user's intracranial nerve tissue via the outer auditory canal of the user of the portable electronic device to stimulate the user's intracranial nerve tissue. In the device, the support member is around the light guide at a distance from the radiation guide, thus providing an air gap around the radiation guide. In the device there is a sealing structure between the support member and the light guide for preventing the contamination of the light guide and the air gap.

The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for reducing interference created in an output signal in connection with signal conversion. The arrangement may employ two structural sets, whereof the arrangement comprises at least one. The first structural set comprises a modulator ( ) arranged to modulate the signal, and a DA converter ( ) arranged to convert the serial-mode input signal arriving from the modulator into an analogue output signal. In addition, the first structural set comprises a serial/parallel converter ( ) arranged to convert the modulated signal into parallel mode, and a divider ( ) for generating a clock signal, the frequency of the clock signal generated by the divider being lower than the frequency of the clock signal used in serial-mode input signal transmission. The divider ( ) is arranged to simultaneously clock several signals to the DA converter ( ). The second structural set comprises an AD converter ( ) arranged to convert an analogue input signal into several parallel digital output signals. In addition, the second structural set comprises a parallel/serial converter ( ) arranged to receive several simultaneously arriving digital signals for conversion into serial-mode signals using a clock signal, the frequency of which being lower than the frequency of the clock signal used in serial-mode signal transmission.

Method and arrangement for reducing interference

The invention relates to a data transmission method and a data transmission arrangement implementing the method. The data to be transferred is digital and consists of bits, the value of which is determined using voltage. In the solution, an electric current corresponding with the digital value of the data to be transmitted is formed in a current converter ( ) which is transferred on the bus ( ). The original digital data is restored from the electric current after data transmission using a reverse current converter ( ).
