The present invention relates to an electric personal care apparatus comprising a skin contacting portion configured for contact with skin of a user. The skin contacting portion comprises a porous and compressible material. The porous and compressible material is configured to hold a fluid by capillary forces. The porous and compressible material is configured to be compressed due to pressure contact of the skin contacting portion with the skin of the user, and configured to release the fluid onto the skin of the user when the porous and compressible material is holding the fluid and being compressed.

A varnish composition is provided comprising a hydrophilic oral care agent, such as a peroxide material, dispersed in a solution of a film-forming hydrophobic polymer in a non-polar solvent. Lacrimal inserts such as punctal plugs may be utilized for delivery of medication to the eye. The plug includes a body portion sized to pass through a lacrimal punctum and be positioned within a lacrimal canaliculus of the eyelid. The plug may contain a core, or reservoir, at least partially within the body portion comprising a therapeutic agent that is configured for controlled, pulsatile release into the eye.

An electrode configured to provide electrical contact with a subject's skin and includes a conductive layer and a gel layer. The conductive layer spreads current and transmits electrical signals to and/or receives electrical signals from the subject's skin and has a first conductive surface through which electrical signals are transmitted to and/or received from the subject's skin. The first conductive surface is on a side of the conductive layer that faces toward the subject's skin if the electrode is installed on the subject. The gel layer is formed on the same side of the conductive layer as the first conductive surface. The gel layer has a first interface surface that directly contacts the subject's skin if the electrode is installed on the subject, and to conduct electrical signals between the subject's skin and the first conductive surface. The first interface surface has a surface area larger than that of the first conductive surface.

An electrode apparatus may be configured to provide electro-stimulation. The apparatus may include a current spreader and a spongeless volume disposed adjacent to the current spreader. The current spreader may be configured to spatially distribute electrical current across a stimulation area of a subject's skin. The spongeless volume may be configured to carry liquid gel or other fluent conductive substance that is configured to conduct electrical current between the current spreader and the stimulation area of the subject's skin to provide electro-stimulation.
