The invention relates to a luminaire and a lighting system. The luminaire includes first and second light sources adapted to emit light beams of two different beam patterns encompassed within a single chamber with specular outer walls that are parallel to the optical axis of the beam patterns of both types of light sources. Employing a chamber having specular outer walls aligned with the optical axis of the beam patterns of both types of light sources and adapted to specularly reflect at least a portion of light incident thereon allows more uniform appearance of the luminaire while preserving the respective total beam patterns of the beams produced by the first and second light sources as the light beams are incident on the exit window of the chamber.

Split beam luminaire and lighting system

In various embodiments, an apparatus for driving a load is disclosed. In one example, the apparatus comprises an input configured to, in a first state, receive an input signal, an output configured to, in the first state, provide a first output signal to a series arrangement of the load and a source, wherein the first output signal is configured to feed the load and to charge the source with input power provided via the input signal, and a converter configured to, in a second state different from the first state, convert a source signal from the source into a second output signal destined for the load, wherein the second output signal is configured to feed the load with source power provided by the source.

Since the heat sink body is in thermal contact with the circuit layer, the heat resistance from the LED package to the heat sink body via the circuit layer is minimized.

Light emitting device and method for manufacturing a light emitting device

Today the use of false ceilings is decreasing as it involves too high an energy consumption. The tendency nowadays is to have bare concrete ceilings onto which luminaires are mounted, which often causes acoustical problems. The invention deals with these acoustical problems and relates to an illumination device () comprising a concave reflector () bordering, with an outer edge (), on a light emission window (). The reflector has a reflective surface () facing the light emission window. The illumination device further comprises lamp holding means () for accommodating a light source (), and said lamp holding means being positioned in between the reflective surface and the light emission window. The illumination device is characterized in that the reflector is made of acoustically absorbing material.

Illumination device and luminaire

A lighting panel comprises a light source and a light modifying panel positioned over the light source, in the form of a set of protrusions over the base, the protrusions facing the light source. The protrusions comprise circular/elliptical/polygonal cylinders or cone sections with a small cone taper angle.

There is provided a method for manufacturing a component interconnect board () comprising a conductor structure for providing electrical circuitry to at least one component () when mounted on the component board, the method comprising providing a conductor sheet () with a first predetermined pattern (), providing a solder resist sheet () with a second predetermined pattern for defining solder areas () of the component board, forming a subassembly () by laminating the solder resist sheet on top of the conductor sheet, applying solder onto the subassembly, placing the at least one component onto the subassembly, performing soldering, and laminating the subassembly to a substrate (). Method for manufacturing a component interconnect board

A first lighting device comprises an electromagnetic sensor operable to receive an electromagnetic signal from at least one other lighting device, an acoustic sensor operable to receive an acoustic signal from the other lighting device, and a signal processing module. The signal processing module is configured to determine a distance between the first lighting device and the other lighting device by comparing the acoustic and electromagnetic signals received from the other lighting device. For example, the signals may be emitted when the other device detects occupancy in a space, and the first device may control its light output in dependence on receipt of the signals and the distance from the device that detected the occupancy.

The present invention relates to a light-emitting arrangement () comprising a light source () and a scattering member (). The scattering member () is arranged in a three-dimensional shape in front of the light source () in a light output direction. Different regions of the scattering member have different optical characteristics to provide a desired total light output in respect of brightness level, scattering function and beam shape.

An electric lamp comprises a lighting module, a pin comprising an electric contact for powering the lighting module, and an insulating sleeve surrounding the pin and movable along the pin between a covering position and an uncovering position. Further, the sleeve covers the electric contact of the pin when in the covering position, and is retractable against the action of a biasing means to the uncovering position, in which the sleeve uncovers at least a portion of said electric contact of the pin.

The method includes determining whether objects are present in the area surrounding the luminaire based on a comparison of information indicative of a signal strength of the detected back-reflected first light beam () and information indicative of a signal strength of the detected back-reflected second light beam ().

Presence detection using split beam luminaire

The present invention relates to a printed circuit board () comprising several finger portions () projecting from a base portion (), wherein each linger portion is provided with a plurality of light emitting elements (). By means of the invention it is possible to optimize the physical size of the printed circuit board () such that a resulting LED module requires less printed circuit board area per thereon arranged LED, thereby decreasing the cost of the overall LED module.

The invention relates to a method for determining a distance from a sensor to a luminaire. The luminaire includes at least a first light source configured to emit a first light beam adapted to illuminate a predefined area and a second light source configured to emit a second light beam adapted to illuminate a background area surrounding the predefined area. The sensor, which could e.g. be included within another luminaire, is configured to detect a back-reflected first light beam and a back-reflected second light beam. The method includes determining the distance from the sensor to the luminaire based, at least partially, on a comparison of information indicative of a signal strength of the detected back-reflected first light beam and information indicative of a signal strength of the detected back-reflected second light beam.

Distance estimation using split beam luminaire

The invention provides an illumination device () comprising (a) a waveguide element () comprising a first face (), a second face (), and a waveguide edge (), and (b) a LED light source (), arranged to generate light source light (), with optional collimating optics (). The LED light source () with optional collimating optics () is arranged to couple at least part of the light source light () into the waveguide element () via the waveguide edge () of the waveguide element (). Method and device of a LED matrix

A lighting module () having a connection end () for connection to a lamp holder (), and a light output end () for outputting light, wherein the lighting module (), at the light output end (), is provided with a mechanical interface comprising first () and second () protrusions extending in a direction parallel with a longitudinal axis () of the lighting module and being configured to interact with corresponding protrusions () on an identical mechanical interface to transfer at least one of a rotational force and a pulling force to the lighting module (), so that a device (') provided with such an identical mechanical interface can be used as a tool for connecting/disconnecting the lighting module ().
