A method for manufacturing a flooring product with integrated circuitry, comprising the steps of providing a plurality of pieces (), stacking said pieces on top of each other, displaced in relation to each other to form an offset stack (), and compressing said offset stack to form said flooring product. The method further comprises arranging flexible circuitry () on an upper surface of at least one piece, so that, when said pieces are stacked, a first portion () of flexible circuitry on the at least one piece is exposed, said first portion () including circuitry for interacting with the environment. By arranging the circuitry in the flooring during such a manufacturing process, a flooring product is achieved where only a portion of the circuitry is exposed, and another portion is embedded in the flooring. This allows for exposing those parts of the circuitry that are adapted to interact with the surrounding environment, such as optical components, pressure sensitive components, acoustic components, etc.

A flat-panel display apparatus having plasma discharge cells forming pixels arranged in a matrix of M row and N columns, wherein N is larger than M. The flat display panel has sustain electrodes and scan electrodes arranged in one direction and data electrodes in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. A data driver circuit is coupled to the data electrodes for supplying data signals to the discharge cells in response to video information, wherein the data electrodes are arranged to constitute the M rows, the sustain and scan electrodes are arranged to constitute the N columns and the data driver circuit is adapted to supply data signals to a column of selected pixels.

Logos may be present in images transmitted by television stations. These logos are often present in the corners () of an image () for a long time. They do not move and may comprise saturated colors. This results in burn-in effects in emissive displays because the logos provide the same display load at the same location for a relatively long period of time. The burn-in effect can be prevented by detecting the logos in the corners () of the image () and reducing their intensity to the average display load.

A method of driving a plasma display panel showing images having frames composed of odd and even fields. The plasma display panel has scan electrodes and address electrodes perpendicular to the scan electrodes. In the method, first the odd and then the even scan electrodes, or vice versa, are addressed in the frame and subsequently sustained. This method saves time, which may be used to speed up the plasma display device.

The invention relates to an AC plasma display panel ( ) of the surface discharge type, and more specifically to the structure of the address electrodes ( ) of said panel, and to a method of driving said panel. According to the invention, only one address electrode ( ) is used for one out of every two columns. Scan ( ) and common ( ) electrodes may comprise transparent parts ( ). These parts ( ) may extend over one out every two cells, in a checkerboard fashion. In a preferred embodiment as shown in FIG. the columns may have alternating wide ( ) and narrow ( ) cells ( ). In the driving method according to the invention, all rows are addressed during an addressing phase, and subsequently all rows are simultaneously sustained during a sustain phase.
