Connector device for metal cables

An adjustable splicing device for mechanically connecting two portions of a rotating cable formed as an adjustable splicing connector associated with a partition-like support. The device comprises a guide and protection body attachable to the support and a movable adjustment core slidable in the guide and protection body and carrying one of the two portions of the rotating cable. A lock nut retains the adjustment core in the guide and protection body and a cylindrical splicing body retains free ends of both portions of the cable in the adjustment core, and a splicing terminal coupled to the adjustment core, carrying a free end of one of the two portions of the rotating cable.

Adjustable splicing device

A vehicle clutch control cable comprises a primary cable part, a secondary cable part, and a length adjuster interposed between the cable parts for automatically adjusting the effective length of the control cable with changes in the position of a clutch member controlled by the cable, the length adjuster including an elongated body including two ends and provided with an opening in one of the ends for passing the primary cable part and an opening in the other of the ends for passing the secondary cable part, interconnecting members located in the body and interconnecting the cable parts to allow a control force applied to the primary cable part to be transmitted through the secondary cable part to the member in use, and a compensation spring acting on the interconnecting means to automatically vary the position of an interconnection of the cable parts with respective changes in the position of the member.

Automatic length adjuster for control cables, and control cable provided

A handbrake compensator for a motor vehicle includes a support having a tubular body receiving a spring and two opposing flanges. The support is connected to a load distributor element which transmits load from a primary cable to a secondary cable connected to a wheel. The load distributor element has two opposing wings provided with elongated slots which receive a cap screw which connects the load distributor element to the support. One of the slots has toothed edges so that the screw can be moved axially of the support to adjust the position of the load distributor element relative to the spring to thereby adjust tension of the cables.
