The present invention relates to a modular solar photovoltaic inverter where by reducing the size of the filtering module and reducing the number of components, it reduces the size of the solar inverter compared to the state of the art; and with the configuration of the power modules, it generates channels that allow the passage of air from the cooling module, obtaining a modular photovoltaic solar inverter that improves the dimensions, weight, maintenance, cooling and safety with respect to those known up until now.

The present invention discloses a converter with cold start-up and a cold start-up method for modular power converters that allows converter operation tests to be carried out without a connection to the AC grid. For that purpose, the control module powers the power converter modules, disconnects the power converter from the AC grid, selects a power converter module as the AC-source module and configures a voltage and a frequency for the AC-source module, selects the power for the other power converter modules and sets starting conditions. Previously, the control module is powered by an AC source that can be internal or external, such as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) or a DC source (photovoltaic field), via a DC-AC transformer.

The invention discloses a system and a method for dynamic over-current protection for power converters. The system can be connected to the output of a power stage and comprises: a comparator that measures an output current (I) of the power stage; a control device that measures a voltage (V) of the power stage; a test generator that comprises pairs of voltage-current values (V-I) that relate voltage values with current values of the power stage, where the test generator receives the measured voltage value from the control device and sends the corresponding current value from the pairs of voltage-current values to the comparator, which halts the power stage if the output current of the power stage is higher than or equal to the value of the current associated with the measured voltage.

An integrated power supply system for auxiliary services for power converters comprises a sinusoidal filter connected between an auxiliary output of a DC-AC inverter module and an input of the auxiliary service transformer in such a way that a control module, by means of control commands, interrupts the main output of the DC-AC inverter module and enables the secondary output thereof to allow the auxiliary service transformer to generate the auxiliary AC power. The DC-AC inverter module is connectable to a DC source and supplies the power it generates to an AC network.

A process for reducing common-mode current in a power-line communication equipment, where a power-line network is used as a communication medium, includes applying a signal transmitted by the power-line communication equipment via a common-mode choke circuit. The common-mode choke circuit includes braided signal cables mounted around a toroidal magnetic core. The signal is applied to the braided signal cables. The common-mode choke circuit is located adjacent to a connector of a power supply cable supplying power from a power outlet to the power-line communication equipment.

The invention relates to an overvoltage protection circuit comprising an MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) voltage limiting device () which is disposed in series with a GDT (Gas Discharge Tube) voltage limiting device (). The invention is characterized in that a resistor () is disposed in parallel with the aforementioned GDT device (), the value of said resistor being such that the voltage supported by the GDT device () is less than the holdover voltage thereof. In another embodiment of the invention, a second resistor () is disposed in parallel with the MOV device () and, together with the above-mentioned resistor (), forms a resistive divider such that the voltage applied the GDT device () under steady-state conditions is less than the holdover voltage of the GDT. The invention is suitable for communication systems and, preferably, for applications involving communication via electrical network, since the protection effectiveness is improved owing to the fact that the holdover voltage of the GDT device () must be less than that normally required.

Process and device for compensating the low frequency magnetic field in an inductive signal coupling unit. According to the invention the coupling unit comprises a ferromagnetic core () which encloses a conductor through which a low frequency current () is circulating in order to inject thereon a high frequency signal. Current (), circulating through the conductor or the magnetic field () produced in the coupling unit, is detected, and a compensating current is obtained based on the value obtained in the detection carried out, and the compensating current obtained in the coupling unit is injected through a low pass filter () to produce a magnetic field () equal and opposite to the produced by current () of the conductor in the coupling unit, and thereby avoiding the saturation of the magnetic core () without adding insertion loss. In general the invention is applied to communication systems which require the injection of a radio frequency signal on a conductor, and in particular in systems which use the electricity grid as the transmission medium.
