A liquid transfer device having a housing with a top end, a bottom end, a sidewall, and an inner cavity. The sidewall has an inner surface and an outer surface. There is a plurality of openings traversing said sidewall. Also present is a filtering surface that covers the openings. The water or other liquids are pumped or transferred with a pump contained inside the inner cavity, with a fluid exit used for carrying the water out towards exterior hosing.

Site drainer

A liquid transfer device is disclosed that has a fluid pump enclosed within a rigid, space enclosing housing. The pump has a strainer with strainer openings that provide a fluid connection between the pump and the inside of the housing. The strainer is located at the lower end of the pump and the housing. There are also openings in the housing that provide a fluid connection between the inside of the housing and its outer surface. The maximum size of the openings in the housing is less than the minimum size of the strainer openings so that the strainer does not clog with debris. A discharge manifold provides a fluid connection between the pump and the outside the housing. In this way fluid is drawn in through the housing openings and then the strainer before being pumped out via the discharge manifold.

A preferred embodiment of the invention which is intended to accomplish the foregoing includes a container/closure assembly having lid means with a plurality of lid extensions. The lid extensions extend from an inner surface of the lid means. Significantly, the lid extensions include pressure means which interacts with a wall surface(s) of the container to secure the lid means on the container. The pressure means is replaceable in order to allow for a controlled lid retention force.

Container/closure assembly

An electrode catheter testing device is shown which provides a practical means for determining, immediately prior to use, whether an electrode catheter is functioning properly. The device includes a pair of telescoping tube members axially displaced by means of a spring and enclosing a braided wire cylinder which defines a core for receiving the electrode end of an electrode catheter. When the spring is manually compressed, the braided wire cylinder's diameter is increased to permit insertion of the catheter. When the spring is released, the braided wire cylinder is elongated and its diameter is contracted such that the cylinder contacts the electrode rings shorting them together. Continuity to each electrode ring may then be measured electrically using a suitable instrument such as a ohmmeter.

Electrode catheter testing device

A device useful for the in vitro study of cell migration across a monolayer of epithelial cells while simultaneously measuring the transepithelial electrical resistance of the epithelial monolayer is provided and is characterized as including at least three components, a cylinder, a chamber and a punch. The cylinder is designed for tissue culture, the chamber provides a controlled space and/or environment for the cylinder and the punch is provided to cut the epithelial monolayer and its substrate.
