A tool for surveying a multi-level elevator hoistway in preparation for installing hoistway rails, the tool having: a platform supporting a spatial range sensor that has an electronic controller, the controller receives instructions over a wireless network to measure a first distance between the platform and a first proximate wall, and stores transmits first data representing the first distance; the platform extends from a first side to a second side that are opposite each other, the first side has a first bracket that engages a first guide wire and the second end has a second bracket that engages a second guide wire; and the platform defines a first surface and a second surface, and first coupling link is connected to the first surface for connecting with a rope to raise or lower the platform against the first and second guide wires.

Hoistway survey tool and method of surveying a hoistway

An elevator car includes an elevator car floor, a plurality of side walls, and a ceiling defining an interior of the elevator car. A ceiling panel access system includes a drum sheave arranged within one of the side walls, at least one locking pin arranged on a top of the elevator car and configured to releasably engage with a ceiling access panel to lock the ceiling access panel in a locked state and disengage therefrom to cause the ceiling access panel to open into the interior of the elevator car, and at least one cable operably connecting the drum sheave to the at least one locking pin, wherein rotation of the drum sheave causes the at least one cable to wind about the drum sheave and cause retraction of the at least one locking pin from engagement with the ceiling access panel.

Elevator car ceiling access system

A connector assembly includes a connector body and a suspension member. The suspension member extends along a center axis and comprises a plurality of tension members encased in a jacket. The suspension member has one end received within the connector body, and this one end has an end face extending at an angle relative to the center axis with ends of the plurality of tension members being exposed. A plurality of contact members are supported within the connector body, and each contact member contacts an exposed end face of at least one tension member to establish electrically conductive connections with the plurality of tension members.

An electronic actuator for an elevator safety brake system, the actuator having: an electromagnet assembly; and a first magnet assembly configured for being retracted from engagement with a rail depending on an energized state of the electromagnet assembly, the first magnet assembly including: blocks spaced apart from each other, respectively defining block bodies, and elongated block legs respectively extending aft from the block bodies; and a first magnet is disposed between the block bodies; wherein the electromagnet assembly includes: a core that defines: a core body extending between core ends that are spaced apart from each other; and core stub legs respectively extending forward from the core ends that are positioned adjacent to the elongated block legs when the first magnet assembly is retracted; and a coil winding wound about bobbins that are placed over the core body, the elongated block legs are longer than the core stub legs.

Electronic actuation module for elevator safety brake system

An illustrative example embodiment of a wireless power transfer device includes an inductor panel and a capacitor panel adjacent the inductor panel. The capacitor panel includes a first conductive plate adjacent one side of the inductor panel, a dielectric layer adjacent the first conductive plate, and a second conductive plate adjacent the dielectric layer on an opposite side of the dielectric layer from the first conductive plate.

Encapsulated components of electromechanical actuators for elevator systems

Magnet assemblies for electromechanical assemblies of elevator systems are described. The magnet assemblies include a magnet and first and second block assemblies arranged on opposite sides of the magnet. In some configurations, the block assemblies each include a respective friction engagement surface and are formed of layers of sheet metal, with a portion of the layers having blade teeth that form a friction engagement surface for engagement with a guide rail. In some configurations, each of the block assemblies are formed from powder metal sintering and include a monolithic tooth configuration configured to form a friction engagement surface for engagement with a guide rail. In some configurations each of the block assemblies includes an abrasive coating configured to form a friction engagement surface for engagement with a guide rail.

Magnet assemblies of electromechanical actuators for elevator systems

Magnet assemblies of electromechanical assemblies for elevator systems are described. The magnet assemblies include a magnet, at least one rail engagement block, and an encapsulating body encapsulating the magnet and the at least one rail engagement block, wherein the encapsulating body is formed from a non-magnetic material. A target extension is formed from the material of the encapsulating body and extends away from the magnet and the at least one rail engagement block. A proximity switch target is held within the target extension for detection by a proximity switch.
