An apparatus for measuring volume- or mass-flow of a medium in a pipeline. The apparatus includes: a measuring tube, through which medium flows in the direction of the measuring tube axis, wherein the measuring tube has, in stream direction of the medium, a first end region and a second end region; a magnet system, which a produces a magnetic field passing through the measuring tube essentially transversely to the measuring tube axis; at least one measuring electrode coupled with the medium and arranged in a region of the measuring tube lying essentially perpendicular to the magnetic field; and a control/evaluation unit, which delivers information concerning volume- or mass-flow of the medium in the measuring tube on the basis of a measurement voltage induced in the at least one measuring electrode. In order to keep costs for the magneto-inductive flow measuring device low, the measuring tube is embodied as one-piece and the first end region and the second end region of the measuring tube are flared.

Apparatus for measuring volume- or mass-flow of a medium in a pipeline

A measuring transducer of a flow measuring device for measuring the flow of a medium through an existing pipeline system, wherein, in a cost-favorable manner, an equalization of potential between medium and measuring transducer is effected. The measuring transducer includes a measuring transducer housing, a measuring tube integrated in the measuring transducer, two process connections of an insulating material, via which the measuring tube is connectable to the pipeline system, and, placed in one of the process connections, at least one electrode, which is exposed in an inner space of the process connection, through which medium flows during operation. The electrode is connected with the measuring transducer housing via an electrically conductive connection.

Measuring transducer of a flow measuring device applied in industrial measurements technology

A measuring transducer including a measuring tube for conveying a fluid; a measuring electrode arrangement for registering electric voltages produced in the flowing fluid; as well as a magnetic field system situated externally on the measuring tube for producing a magnetic field at least partially passing through the measuring tube as well as the therein conveyed fluid during operation, for inducing an electric field in the flowing fluid, wherein the magnetic field system has at least one field coil, through which an electrical exciter current flows at least at times during operation. A coil holder is also including serving for holding the at least one field coil externally on the measuring tube, wherein the measuring tube and coil holder are connected joint-freely with one another, so that the coil holder is embodied as an integral component of the measuring tube.

Magneto-inductive measuring transducer

A method of manufacturing a measuring tube for an electromagnetic flow sensor includes the steps of filling a material to be sintered into a lumen of a support tube, sintering the material within the lumen to obtain an open-pored reinforcing body of the measuring tube, and impregnating the open-pored reinforcing body obtained by the step of sintering the material within the lumen at least partially with a liquid insulating material and solidifying the insulating material to obtain a liner of the measuring tube.

Method of manufacturing an electromagnetic flow sensor

A method of manufacturing an electromagnetic flow sensor having a measuring tube with an insulating liner having a reinforcing body embedded therein includes the steps of producing the liner in situ in a support tube, and forming a sintering space in the support tube by inserting a sintering mandrel therein. The support tube is closed, leaving one filling aperture for a granular material to be sintered. The reinforcing body is formed in the support tube such that it fits its lumen, by introducing the material to be sintered into the sintering space, sintering, and removing the mandrel. A casting space is formed in the support tube by fixing a casting mandrel therein, and leaving one casting aperture for a liquefied insulting material. The liner is formed by introducing the insulating material into the casting space, allowing to penetrate into the reinforcing body, and solidify in the support tube lumen.

An electromagnetic flow sensor for a fluid flowing through a pipe comprises a measuring tube which can be inserted into a pipe. The measuring tube comprises a support tube as an outer covering of the measuring tube, a tubular liner of insulating material, located in a lumen of the support tube, for conducting the flowing fluid isolated from the support tube, and an open-pore reinforcing body for stabilizing the liner. The reinforcing body is sintered directly in said support tube. A magnetic-circuit arrangement is disposed on the measuring tube for producing and guiding a magnetic field which induces an electric field in the flowing fluid. Electrodes pick up voltages from the electric field. Furthermore, the reinforcing body has coil-core seats for coil cores of the magnetic-circuit arrangement.
