Disclosed is a process for obtaining a solid catalyst component for ethylene polymerization and copolymerization, wherein a carrier of particulate silica (65 to 85% by weight) is impregnated with a catalytically active portion (15 to 35% by weight) including titanium, magnesium, chlorine, alkoxy groups and at least one organometallic compound of the groups 1, 2, 12 or 13 of the periodic table. Further, the invention refers to the solid catalyst component thus obtained and to a process for ethylene polymerization and copolymerization wherein is used said catalyst. The catalyst obtained is suitable for the production of ethylene homo- and copolymers as narrow molecular weight distribution high density polyethylene (NMWHDPE) and linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) with controlled morphology and improved structure.

Solid catalyst component for polymerization and copolymerization of ethylene and process for obtaining the same

A process for polymerizing monomers in the gas phase, in fluidized bed reactors is described, where unsaturated, gas phase monomers are fed into the reactors in the presence of a mixture of inert diluents having a composition that allows the dew point to be adjusted, this leading to high production rates under stable operation in a non condensed operation mode.

Process for the gas phase polymerization and copolymerization of olefin monomers

A process for producing high density polyethylene (HDPE) or linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) in gas phase reactors, isolated or combined, using chromium or Ziegler-Natta catalysts, provided with on-line control of certain process variables as well as physical properties of the produced resin is described. Such process comprises the use of models for the inference of the physical properties and of the process variables that are not continuously measured as well as models which are relevant for the control of said properties and of the operating conditions of the process. The control of the process variables provides further the maximization of the production rate and of the catalyst productivity in the polymerization reaction.
