A contact for an electrical plug connector comprises a plug portion and a contact spring. The plug portion has an opening receiving a pin contact in an insertion direction. The contact spring is connected by at least one spring arm base to the plug portion and extends from the at least one spring arm base toward the opening in a direction opposite the insertion direction. The contact spring exerts a contact force on the pin contact perpendicular to the insertion direction.

The invention relates to a plug connector for making an electrical connection with a battery terminal. The plug connector comprises a housing formed by joining an upper shell and a lower shell with a contact lying within the housing. The contact has a helical spring contact and a contact strip bent to form a cylindrical region. The upper shell and the lower shell each have a holding element extending within the cylindrical region formed by the contact strip, in order to form a recess for holding the helical spring contact.

An arrangement for contact securing in an electrical connector includes a securing insert, which, with tabs, that constrict the clear width of the chambers by extending through an opening. The securing insert comprises four walls which form a rectangle. One securing insert surrounds a plurality of chambers. The first wall of the securing insert, which has the tabs is displaced by the deformation of the second wall prpendicularly to the plugging direction and thus frees the clear width of the chambers for the contacts by moving the tabs out of the chambers. Upon release of the second wall the elastic nature of the securing insert naturally biases the tabs into the chambers.

A tab terminal comprises an inner contact body and an outer spring body having a locking lance. The outer body is mounted over the inner body in a vertical direction, whereby inwardly bent tabs of the inner contact body receive a side wall of the outer body, the other side wall of the outer body having a clinching tab that engages in a cutout of the inner contact body. The latter enables a very simple assembly procedure that reduces assembly time, tool complication, and therefore production costs.
