An apparatus includes a disposable assembly and a reusable assembly. The disposable assembly includes a fluid input port, a fluid output port, and a tube configured to provide fluid communication between the fluid input port and the fluid output port. The reusable assembly includes a housing, a fluid management assembly that is configured to transition between an open position and a closed position, and a sensing assembly. The fluid management assembly is configured to prevent fluid from traveling past the tube to the fluid output port in the closed position. The sensing assembly is configured to sense fluid accumulating within the tube while the fluid management assembly is in the closed position. The sensing assembly is also configured to drive the fluid management assembly from the closed position to the open position when the sensing assembly detects fluid within the tube at a predetermined range.

Fluid output measurement device and method

Various embodiments of a device, a kit and method for delivering a drug depot are disclosed. The device comprises a housing including a lower body, an upper body, a ring member; and a drug cartridge. The lower body defines a lower body channel. The upper body defines an upper body channel. The drug cartridge defines a depot channel. The ring member is disposed extending upward from an annular step surface of the lower body toward a housing upper end. The ring member includes indicia indicating a characteristic of one or more drug depots in the drug cartridge. A plunger has a push rod for expelling the drug depot through the cannula to a site in the patient. A kit comprises the above components. A method includes assembling the components including selecting a ring member having indicia corresponding to one or more drug depots in the drug cartridge.

Drug delivery device and methods having a retaining member

Drug depot delivery devices and methods for delivering a drug depot to a site beneath the skin of a patient are provided. In various embodiments the device has a housing having a top housing end, and a bottom housing end. The housing defines a housing channel. The device has a drug cartridge defining a depot channel aligned with the housing channel and configured to slidably accept the drug depot. The drug cartridge has at least a first occluding device configured to occlude the depot channel at a first position such that the drug depot cannot pass through the depot channel without force applied to the drug depot sufficient to deflect the first occluding device. The bottom end of the housing has a coupling configuration for engaging a cannula. A plunger has a push rod to expel the drug depot through the occluding device and the cannula.

Drug delivery methods having an occluding member

Adapters for a connector assembly for percutaneous tubing are provided. A male adapter (FIG.) includes a connector fitting () proximate a first end, the connector fitting configured to join to a connector for a tubing system or device, and a male connector () proximate a second end. The male connector includes a plug end with a fluid lumen defined therethrough, the plug end having a circumferential groove defined therein to receive a locking extension of a female connector sized to be received within the circumferential groove of the plug end to allow the female connector to rotate relative to and maintain axial engagement with the male connector when the locking extension is received within the groove. An adapter having a female connector (FIG.) is also provided.

Systems and methods for tubing delivery

Connector assembly (FIG.) includes a shell (), a connector body (), and a plug (). The shell () has a sidewall () defining an interior, a first shell end having a first opening () defined therein, and a second shell end having a second opening () defined therein, each of the first () and second openings () in communication with the interior to receive percutaneous tubing therethrough, the shell () further having an engagement portion. The connector body () has a first body end () and a second body end () with a tube lumen defined therethrough, the first body end () having a connector tip (), the connector body () having an engaging portion to engage the engagement portion of the shell (). The plug () has a first plug end and a second plug end with a fluid lumen defined therethrough, the first plug end having a plug tip () extending therefrom.

A paint brush and method include a ferrule extending around and in contact with a plurality of bristles and a spacer apparatus positioned to space apart the plurality of bristles to provide at least one reservoir within the plurality of bristles. The spacer apparatus defines at least one opening extending through the spacer apparatus that allows fluid passage therethrough to the at least one reservoir to assist in removal of paint from the plurality of bristles when fluid is provided therein.

Drug delivery device and methods having an occluding member

A patient repositioning system for pulling a patient toward a head end of a bed includes a sheet, a mattress, and a housing which contains at least a part of a drive mechanism for operatively coupling to and pulling the sheet. The housing resides below a head end piece of the mattress, and is secured to the bed deck. The sheet pulling structure extends out of the housing via a slot and releasably attaches to the sheet, in a manner which has a low profile so as to pass through the slot. The sheet is longer than and wider than the mattress, and has beaded longitudinal side edges which are retained within rows of spaced retainers located on opposite sides of the mattress. During pulling of the sheet, the contoured shape of the housing facilitates movement of the sheet into the housing via the slot, even though the sheet width extends beyond the lateral edges of the mattress. The sheet may include indicia for indicating a 'loaded' condition, and also usage indicia to indicate that it is time for a new sheet to be used.
