A method is provided for controlling an electric power distribution grid, which includes one or more first grid devices having changeable set-points. The method includes the following steps: determining a consumption target value for the electric power distribution grid, the consumption target value being determined with reference to at an end instant of an observation time window, in which consumption of the electric power distribution grid at a given observation electric node of the electric power distribution grid is observed; and executing a control procedure for controlling the set-points of the first grid devices.

Method for controlling an electric power distribution micro-grid, the micro-grid comprising: an electric coupling node that said micro-grid is electrically disconnectable from an electric power distribution main grid; one or more electric loads, each consuming a corresponding amount of electric power provided by the micro-grid, the electric loads including one or more disconnectable loads electrically disconnectable from the micro-grid; and at least an electric power source including one or more electric power generators. The method of controlling is carried out in response to the disconnection of the micro-grid from the main grid on a disconnection instant and comprises the following: determining whether the electric disconnection of the micro-grid from the main grid is due to a fault in the main grid; if it is determined that the disconnection of the micro-grid from the main grid is not due to a fault in the main grid, executing a load shedding procedure to disconnect in a selective manner one or more disconnectable loads; if it is determined that the disconnection of the micro-grid from the main grid is due to a fault in the main grid, determining whether a drop of a frequency of the micro-grid is in progress following the disconnection of the micro-grid; and if a drop of frequency is in progress following the disconnection of the micro-grid from the main grid, executing the load shedding procedure.

Method for controlling an electric power distribution micro-grid

Method of protecting a distribution network with a line interconnecting busbars, each busbar being connectable, by means of switching devices adjacent to the busbar, to the line and to loads and/or generators. The method divides the distribution network in multiple protection areas, each comprises a busbar, a protection device and an area controller. Upon a change in connect status of a distribution feeder line, load or generator connectable to one of the busbar, the logic controller in this protection area re-calculates the short circuit level of the areas. Based on the recalculated short circuit levels, the protection settings of the areas may be adapted. The embodiment also provides a system and computer program product adapted to perform the method.

Adaptive protection for distribution grid based on area concept

The invention relates to a method for managing the load profile of a low or medium voltage electric network that is supplied by at least an electric power source. The electric network comprises one or more electric loads and one or more controllable switching devices for disconnecting/connecting said electric loads from/with said electric power source. The method comprises the step of measuring a time window from a reference instant, the step of determining at least a check instant comprised in said time window and the step of executing a load profile control procedure at said check instant. In a further aspect, the invention relates to a control system for executing the above described method.
