The invention relates to a recording device () comprising a scan head carrier () for moving the scan head () across a scan area () of a cavity, the scan area () extending around the scan head (). The scan head guide () passes through the cavity towards the scan head (). In particular, a control device () determines the shape of the cavity (). A second extraoral scanning head () scans extraoral areas.

Recording device

The invention relates to a recording device () comprising a scan head carrier () for moving the scan head () across a scan area () of a cavity, the scan area () extending around the scan head (). A flat or film-like, elastically stretchable material extends between the scan head () and the scan area (), which material can be pressed against the scan area () in a balloon ()-type manner using overpressure. The scan head guide () passes through the balloon outlet () of the balloon () towards the scan head (). In particular, a control device () determines the shape of the cavity () against which the material is pressed, from deformation of the material when applying said overpressure. A second extraoral scanning head () scans deformations during pressurization of the film-like material.
