A process for the manufacture of an elongate composite element comprising a bundle () of multifilament fibers embedded in a composition based on a polymerizable substance comprising the following comprises: arranging multifilament fibers in the form of several individual strands, so that a first strand () is located at the center of the bundle and that the other strands are positioned around the first strand; and carrying along the arrangement of multifilament fibers in order to subject it, in the direction of forward progression, to degassing of said arrangement of fibres by the action of vacuum, impregnation of the arrangement of fibres with the composition, passage of the first impregnated strand through a first die () which carries out its partial polymerization, passage of all the strands through a last die () which brings them together in a single strand (), and exposure of the single strand () to a source of radiation in order to carry out an additional polymerization to obtain the elongate composite element.

Method and device for manufacturing composites made from multi-filament fibers

A laminate comprising a first layer and a second layer directly covering the first layer, the first layer being a layer of a silicone rubber composition comprising a micrometric silicone powder and a mixture of crosslinkable organopolysiloxanes, the second layer being a layer of a silicone rubber composition comprising a hydrophobic silica and a mixture of crosslinkable organopolysiloxanes, is provided. The first layer and the second layer are crosslinked. Adapter for a rolling assembly and rolling assembly comprising same

A monofilament made of glass-resin composite has improved properties in compression, in particular at high temperature, and comprises glass filaments embedded in a crosslinked resin. The glass transition temperature of the resin is equal to or greater than 190&#xb0; C. The elongation at break of the monofilament, measured at 23&#xb0; C., is equal to or greater than 4.0%. The initial tensile modulus of the monofilament, measured at 23&#xb0; C., is greater than 35 GPa. The real part of the complex modulus of the monofilament, measured at 190&#xb0; C. by the DMTA method, is greater than 30 GPa. Pneumatic or non-pneumatic tires are reinforced with such a composite monofilament.

GRC (glass-resin composite) monofilament

A non-pneumatic wheel () including a hub () and a non-pneumatic tire (), as well as a method for mounting the non-pneumatic tire () onto the hub (). The hub () is formed, with grooves () that receive the radially-inner ends () of spokes () of the non-pneumatic tire (). To secure the tire () onto the hub () during assembly, the grooves () with the radially inner ends () of the spokes () received therein are pulled radially inward to decrease the diameter of the hub () and increase tension in the spokes ().

Non-pneumatic wheel and method of mounting non-pneumatic tire

A laminated product () comprises at least: a layer () of silicone rubber, in particular of the high temperature crosslinking type, such as, for example, a silicone rubber of VMQ or PVMQ grade the said layer () of silicone rubber being sandwiched between two layers () of fibre-resin composite comprising filaments () of an inorganic substance (), in particular glass, embedded in a thermoset resin (), such as, for example, a vinyl ester resin. A non-pneumatic elastic wheel () defining three perpendicular directions, circumferential (X), axial (Y) and radial (Z), comprises at least: &#x2014;a hub (), for example made of metal; an annular band referred to as a shear band () oriented in the circumferential direction (X), surmounted by a tread (); and a plurality of support elements () connecting the hub () to the annular shear band (). The annular shear band () is formed by a laminate comprising at least one layer of silicone rubber, in particular of the high temperature crosslinking type, such as, for example, a silicone rubber of VMQ or PVMQ grade, the said layer being sandwiched between two layers of fibre-resin composite comprising filaments of an inorganic substance, in particular glass, embedded in a thermoset resin such as, for example, a vinyl ester resin.

Non-pneumatic resilient wheel

A method of mounting a non-pneumatic tire onto a hub to provide a non-pneumatic wheel is provided. Certain portions of spokes of the non-pneumatic tire are connected to grooves along the hub. The tire is repeatedly rotated and deformed to allow the remaining portions of the spokes to be connected with the grooves in order to fully mount the tire onto the hub.

Method of mounting a non-pneumatic tire onto a hub

A non-pneumatic wheel having an annular reinforcement structure that includes rectangular reinforcements within a shear layer. The rectangular reinforcements replace deforming rubber or polymeric materials and can thereby reduce the volume of deforming materials to optimize energy loss therein and reduce rolling resistance of the non-pneumatic wheel.

The plurality of monofilaments are coated in a layer of thermoplastic material (); and all or some of these monofilaments are flat, of cross section having a width Wmeasured along the Y direction and having a thickness Tmeasured along the Z direction, with an aspect ratio W/Tgreater than 1.5.

Multi-composite planar reinforcement

An exemplary spoke for a non-pneumatic wheel. The spoke can be manufactured with a reinforcement structure having reinforcement elements and one or more layers of material. The spoke can also be provided in various shapes and configurations. The spoke includes anchors that allow the spoke to be more readily incorporated into, or removed from, a non-pneumatic wheel. More particularly, the anchors also allow the spoke to be joined as one-piece with the non-pneumatic wheel or releasably connected on one or both ends with the non-pneumatic wheel.
