A method for modifying a subtitle of a video frame. Subtitle text representing audio content of a video frame and font attributes of the subtitle text are received. A color of the subtitle text is identified, based on the font attributes of the subtitle text. A geometric region within the video frame corresponding to a display area of the subtitle text. A predominant color of the geometric region within the video frame is calculated. A level of similarity between the color of the subtitle text and the predominant color of the geometric region is determined. Rendering information of the subtitle text is calculated, based on the level of similarity, and a modification of the subtitle text is performed by applying the rendering information to the subtitle text, such that the modification reduces the similarity level during display of the video frame.

Dynamic subtitle enhancement

A processor may receive a delivered message. The processor, using natural language processing, may identify content of the delivered message. The processor may generate a first importance score for the delivered message based on the content of the delivered message. The processor may send a notification to at least one recipient of the delivered message as a reminder of the delivered message, in response to the first importance score fulfilling a predefined delivery condition. In some embodiments, a processor may receive a message. The processor may identify the content of the message using natural language processing. The processor may generate a first importance score for the message based on the content of the message. The processor may determine that a second message received is related to the message. The processor may update the first importance score.

Automatic notification generation for electronic processing systems

A method, system, and/or computer program product operates a synchronous conference on a computing system. A processor provides at least one sequence of original messages to be sent from a sender user to a corresponding at least one receiver user. The original messages of each sequence are aggregated into corresponding aggregated messages according to a time distance between each pair of consecutive original messages of the sequence. The aggregated messages are then sent to the corresponding receiver user.

Synchronous conferencing with aggregation of messages

A solution is proposed for controlling usage of one or more perishable products. A corresponding method comprises storing an indication of one or more package events that may affect a duration of the perishable product being sensed by one or more sensors associated with the package; receiving an interrogation signal from a smart portable device of a user of the perishable product; retrieving package information being stored in association with the control unit in response to the interrogation signal, the package information comprising the indication of at least part of the package events; and transmitting the package information to the smart portable device for use by the smart portable device to control the usage of the perishable product according thereto.

Controlling usage of perishable products with a smart portable device

In an approach for locating parking, a computer identifies driving directions to a destination. The computer receives a navigation input from a user to locate parking associated with the destination. The computer calculates one or more navigation paths based on the destination, wherein the one or more navigation paths include one or more street segments that connect identical starting and ending points with at least one different street segment and overall values indicating priority based on one or more weight factors associated with the one or more street segments. The computer selects a first navigation path from the calculated one or more navigation paths utilizing an ordered ranking of the one or more navigation paths. The computer provides driving directions associated with the first navigation path. The computer determines whether the user locates parking while utilizing the first navigation path.

Identifying a parking location with respect to a destination

A not crossable element (NCE) is marked using a shape on a map. A map data does not prevent a route from crossing the NCE. A closed area is selected on the map, which includes a polygon bound on one side by a portion of the shape. A set of mapping points (MP) that are included in the closed area is selected. A route is formed by connecting one MP to another MP. A subset of MPs is identified as a set of candidate MPs (CMP). Each CMP lies within a search distance of a not-mapping point (NMP). The CMPs are sorted according to CMP-NMP distances. A subset of CMPs is selected whose paths to the NMP do not intersect with any shape corresponding to any NCE in the closed area. The NMP is linked in the route with a selected CMP from the subset of CMPs.

Geographical constraints-aware map routing

A processor receives a media rating associated with a first media program and metadata associated with the first media program. The processor stores the metadata and the media rating associated with the first media program in a local database. The processor receives a second media program absent a media rating. The processor determines metadata associated with the second media program absent the media rating. The processor searches the local database based on the metadata associated with the second media program absent the parental control rating. The processor matches the metadata associated with the second media program absent the media rating to the metadata of the first media program including the media rating, and the processor applies the media rating of the first media program to the second media program.

Determining missing media control information based on previous media transmissions

Methods, systems, and computer program products for modifying a resource by an authenticated user impersonating another user. In one embodiment of the invention, a lock may be acquired on the resource to be modified, storing the identity of the authenticated user and the identity of the impersonated user inside the lock object, and generating a message indicating that the lock was acquired successfully by the authenticated user impersonating another user.

User impersonation and authentication

A mechanism is provided for defining and managing virtual discussion threads in a generic synchronous conferencing system. A chat server and chat client define a virtual discussion thread (VDT) entity that includes a group of chat entries or parts of chat entries. The chat entries in a VDT logically belong to the same 'hidden' discussion within a chat session. Use of the VDT enables a chat system to support a user in understanding existing discussions by showing VDTs available in the overall list of chat entries and evidencing the chat entries in a VDT.

Management of virtual discussion threads in a synchronous conferencing system

A solution is provided for accessing a shared resource in a data processing system (such as a server of a DAM application) by a plurality of exploiter entities (such as clients). A corresponding method starts with the step of monitoring an activity of each enabled entity being granted an access to the shared resource. The access granted to each enabled entity is released in response to the reaching of a first threshold (such as a time-out period) by an inactivity indicator, which is indicative of the non-activity of the enabled entity (such as an idle time). The method continues by detecting a critical condition of the shared resource (such as after reaching a maximum number of concurrent accesses). The access granted to an eligible enabled entity (or more) is released in response to the critical condition; the inactivity indicator of each eligible enabled entity reaches a second threshold preceding the first threshold (such as a grant period lower than the time-out period).
