The electronic circuit breaker comprises an input for connection to a power-supply network and an output for connection to a load. Set between the input and the output are a switch and a limitation block which controls the switch to cause at least partial inhibition thereof in the event of over-current. The circuit breaker further includes a microprocessor connected to the limitation block to inhibit power supply to the load.

A power supply cut-off circuit for breaking a connection between a power rectifier and a power supply line leading to a load. The cut-off circuit is adapted to be connected between the power rectifier and the power supply line and includes a switching circuit connected to a control circuit. The control circuit is operable to sense a malfunction in the power rectifier and to use the switching circuit to disconnect the power rectifier from the power supply line. In one embodiment, the switching circuit includes a plurality of MOSFETs connected in parallel with one another and the control circuit disconnects the power rectifier from the power supply line by making the MOSFETs non-conducting when the power rectifier malfunctions and the output current of the power rectifier becomes inverted.

An electric-power supply incorporates an electronic card with at least one rectifier and one output line of the rectifier. The output line is formed of at least one first bar made of conductive material, terminating with one first output end, and at least one second bar made of conductive material, terminating with one second output end. Means are provided for electrical and mechanical connection for the first bar and the second bar to the card, and on at least one of the two bars is carried at least one electronic component of said rectifier.

A supply circuit used in electronic ballasts for discharge lamps having an inverter for generating a supply voltage at a specified switching frequency for a load circuit comprising at least one lamp and a resonant circuit in series with the electrodes of the lamp. The supply circuit also includes a control circuit connected to the load circuit and the inverter so as to reduce the supply voltage provided to the load circuit in case of defective operation of the lamp. The control circuit includes a band-pass filter centered on the switching frequency of the inverter, a level discriminator, and a logic circuit. The control circuit receives an input signal that is dependent on the voltage at a point of the load circuit, and it is filtered through a band-pass filter. The output signal from the band-pass filter is provided to the level discriminator, which determines whether the lamp being used is defective by the frequency of the voltage and provides a corresponding high or low signal to the logic circuit. The logic circuit then provides a signal to the inverter so as to turn off the supply to the load circuit in case of defective operation.

The invention relates to a lamp arrangement having a resonant circuit arrangement that is balanced and has two LC series circuits each connected between a respective inverter output terminal and a lamp terminal. The two inductive elements being coupled together via a single core.

An electronic ballast is used for providing a voltage with a varying frequency to fluorescent lamps. The electronic ballast has an inverter to supply a fluorescent lamp load with a voltage having a high frequency, with the inverter being controlled by a control which generates a switching signal. The ballast further includes a triangular current wave generator which provides a triangular waveform that modulates the frequency of the switching signal controlling the inverter. The modulation of the switching signal causes the frequency of voltage supplied to the fluorescent lamp load to vary from the resonant frequency of the circuit.

A control unit (11) controls the opening and closing of the two switches (3, 5) of the half bridge and the toggling of the reversing device as a function of the operating conditions of the motor. The control unit (11) is programmed in such a way that in the braking phase it toggles both of the controlled switches (3, 5) cyclically, simultaneously or independently, from an open condition to a closed condition and vice versa.

A laminar board for printed circuits is described, consisting of a base layer (1) made of a material with a high coefficient of thermal conduction and, on at least one side (1B) of the base layer, a coating (13) of electrically insulating material forming the surface for the application of the conducting tracks (11) of the printed circuit. An inverter for the supply of one or more discharge lamps with heated electrodes includes a load circuit with a series resonant circuit and at least one lamp, two controllable switches and a control circuit for the switches, causing the switches to conduct alternately. A normally isolated dissipative component is connected, when the voltage across the load circuit exceeds a given value, to the load circuit, thus modifying its figure of merit to limit the maximum voltage without varying the resonant frequency of the load circuit.
