An injection valve may include: a valve needle moving from a closed position to an open position; a calibration spring biasing the needle towards the closed position; an armature moving toward the pole piece to take the valve needle towards the open position with respect to the valve needle; and a pole piece. Some valves include a magnetic ring moving between a first position, with a top side spaced apart from the pole piece and an underside in contact with the valve needle, and a second position where the top side is in contact with the pole piece. A second spring is in parallel to the calibration spring. An upper retaining element connected to a shaft extends in radial direction to limit movement of the armature relative to the valve needle so that the armature connects to the upper retaining element to displace the valve needle towards the open position.

Injection valve with a magnetic ring element

The present disclosure relates to a nozzle body for a fuel injection valve, the nozzle body including a cavity and an injection channel for dispensing fuel from the cavity. The injection channel includes a first section and a second section downstream of the first section, the first and second sections having a common interface. The first section extends from a fuel inlet opening to a second opening disposed at the common interface. The cross-sectional area of the first section monotonically decreases from the fuel inlet opening to the common interface. The cross-sectional area of the second section monotonically increases from the common interface to the fuel outlet opening.

Nozzle body and fuel injection valve

A valve assembly for a fluid injector for an internal combustion engine includes a valve body with a valve recess, a central longitudinal axis, and a first axial end and a second axial end with respect to the central longitudinal axis. A valve needle is axially moveable within the valve recess with respect to the central longitudinal axis. In concurrence with a seal seat area the valve needle prevents a fluid flow through at least one flow hole in its closing position and otherwise enables it. Furthermore, the injector comprises a sac volume step adjacent to the seal seat area forming a part of an inner surface of a wall of the valve body and a sac volume being designed as one end of the valve recess and being limited by a further part of the inner surface of the wall of the valve body.

Valve assembly and fluid injector for a combustion engine

A nozzle body for a fluid injection includes a cavity and a bottom wall delimiting the cavity at a fluid outlet end. The bottom wall is perforated by an injection hole having an inlet opening at an inner surface of the bottom wall and an outlet opening at an outer surface of the bottom wall. The outlet opening has an elongated slit shape having a centerline which is a circular arc with respect to the longitudinal axis. The inlet opening is spaced apart from the longitudinal axis by a radial distance. The inner surface has a concave shape extending away from the fluid outlet end from an apex of the inner surface. Further, the inlet opening is spaced apart from the apex by an axial distance that is smaller than said radial distance.

Nozzle body, the valve assembly and fluid injection valve

A fuel injection valve for an internal combustion engine includes a movable armature including first and second armature parts, and a magnetic coil that generates a magnetic field for effecting an axial travel of the armature to displace a valve needle away from a closing position. During a first period of axial travel, the second armature part is axially displaced while the valve needle remains closed. During a subsequent second period of the axial travel, the first and second armature parts and the valve needle are fixed with respect to each other and travel axially with respect to the housing. During a third period of the travel, only the first armature part travels further towards the pole element for moving the valve needle further away from the closing position and the axial travel of the first armature part is subsequently stopped at the end of the third period.

Fuel injection valve for an internal combustion engine

A valve assembly for an injection valve may include a valve body having a central longitudinal axis and a cavity with a fluid inlet portion and a fluid outlet portion, the fluid inlet portion having a step, a valve needle axially movable in the cavity, the valve needle preventing a fluid flow through the fluid outlet portion in a closing position and releasing the fluid flow through the fluid outlet portion in an open position, and an electro-magnetic actuator unit configured to actuate the valve needle and comprising an axially movable armature, the armature including a first armature part fixedly coupled to the valve needle and a second armature part axially movable relative to the first armature part, the second armature part configured such that the second armature part is mechanically decoupled from the first armature part by hitting the step when the valve needle reaches its open position.

Valve assembly for an injection valve and injection valve

An injection valve for injecting fluid has a housing with an injection valve cavity. The injection valve has a needle being axially moveable within the cavity. The needle has a needle body with a valve needle cavity and a separation element being fixedly arranged within the needle cavity and being adopted to divide the valve needle cavity into a first and second fluid volume. The separation element has at least one fluid passage with a predetermined passage opening to hydraulically connect the first fluid volume with the second fluid volume. The valve needle has a sealing element being arranged to predetermine the first fluid volume and preventing a fluid injection in a closing position and permitting the fluid injection in further positions. In addition, the valve needle has at least one spring element being preloaded and acting on the sealing element towards a maximum axial expansion of the valve needle.
