A support member for an electrical track assembly comprises a first tracking including a first conductor and a second tracking including a second conductor, the support member comprising: a first support member contact; a second support member contact; an electrical load including a first load contact and a second load contact; and a switch assembly configured for selectively electrically connecting said first conductor with the first load contact, selectively electrically connecting said second conductor with the second load contact, and preventing current flow (i) between said first conductor and the second load contact and (ii) between said second conductor and the first load contact.

The diagnostic process requires a stable value of the parameter. The parameter variates while being generated during a beginning time and is stable while being generated during an ending time. While the parameter is being generated during the beginning time, a stable value of the parameter which the parameter will have during the ending time is predicted. The stable value of the parameter is predicted based on variation of measured values of the parameter during the beginning time.

Methods and systems for performing diagnostic processes with reduced processing time

A battery connection unit includes a first branch with a first branch switch adapted to connect a first battery to at least one of a second battery and a vehicle load; and a second branch with a second branch switch connected in parallel with the first branch. A first measurement switch is connected between the first branch and a storage element to enable/disable charging. A second measurement switch is connected between the second branch and the storage element. A processor is programmed to: disable at least one of the first branch and the second branch; enable at least one of the first measurement switch and the second measurement switch to charge the storage element with leakage current; and generate an output signal indicative of a switch fault in response to a storage element voltage associated with the leakage current exceeding a reference voltage within a predetermined time period.

In at least one embodiment, an apparatus for adaptively performing diagnostics in a vehicle is provided. The apparatus includes at least one microcontroller and a communication controller. The at least one microcontroller is positioned in a vehicle and is configured to provide first information indicative of operating characteristics for at least one switch in the vehicle. The communication controller is configured to receive the first information from the at least one microcontroller and to wirelessly transmit the first information to a remote server. The communication controller is further configured to receive second information related to a remaining useful life (RUL) for the at least one switch from the remote server and to transmit the second information to the at least one microcontroller to determine when the at least one switch will exhibit a failure.

Health self learning system and method for electrical distribution systems for automated driving vehicles

A method and system to perform the verification of measures done by a sensor in quasi real-time. The sensor verification may be implemented at two different levels&#x2014;a functionality level and a measurement level. At the functionality level, a consistency check of information from different variables may be processed at sensor level depending on the functionality of the physical system being measured. At the measurement level, diagnostics may be performed of the circuits present in the measurement path by specific circuitry and at suitable instants of time to guarantee a Fault Tolerant Time Interval while minimizing sample loss. This may be achieved, at least in part, by increasing the measuring sample rate.

An assembly for providing one or two disconnection switches in any of different electrical supply systems includes a printed circuit board having an internally configurable dual switch arrangement. The dual switch arrangement includes first and second switch areas for first and second groups of solid-state devices, first and second driver areas for first and second switch drivers, and busbars and power terminals. The first switch area includes the first group of solid-state devices and the first driver area includes the first switch driver which drives these solid-state devices as either a normally closed (NC) or a normally opened (NO) disconnection switch. First and second ones of the busbars respectively connect ends of the disconnection switch to first and second ones of the power terminals whereby the disconnection switch is provided in the electrical supply system when the electrical supply system is connected to the first and second power terminals.

The memory has a predicted current expected to be provided by the battery for restarting the engine during a cranking event. An on-board charger for an electric vehicle includes a switch configured to receive an AC voltage, a capacitor connected to the switch and connectable to a traction battery of the electric vehicle, a frequency sensor, and a controller. The frequency sensor is configured to detect during the odd half-cycle of a first cycle of the AC voltage an instantaneous frequency of the AC voltage for the first cycle based on elapsed time between zero-voltage crossings of the odd half-cycle of the first cycle and not based on any other zero-voltage crossings of the AC voltage. The controller is configured to close the switch during the even half-cycle of the first cycle at a first trigger time dependent upon the instantaneous frequency of the AC voltage for the first cycle. The capacitor is enabled to be charged with the AC voltage via the switch while the switch is closed.

Methods and systems for pre-charging on-board charger of vehicle

A battery pack includes a first battery, a second battery remotely separated from the first battery, components to be shared by the batteries, and a battery housing. The batteries and the components are contained within the battery housing. The batteries may be Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) batteries having different voltages. The components to be shared by the batteries may include a battery module controller (BMC), a common I/O (COM), a cooling system, and protection mechanisms like fuses, transient voltage suppressors, and battery disconnection devices (JB/BDU). A system and method are disclosed for monitoring at least one relay contact. The system may include an emitter adapted for communication with a relay contact and configured to emit a signal, and a receiver adapted for communication with the relay contact and configured to detect a signal emitted by the emitter. The system may further include a controller adapted for communication with the emitter and receiver, and configured to determine an open or closed state of the relay contact. The controller may control the emitter to emit a signal, may determine a closed state of the relay contact if the receiver detects the signal, and may determine an open state of the relay contact if the receiver fails to detect the signal.

The apparatus includes a control unit for being operably coupled to a decoupling device that exhibits a drift condition and to the capacitive sensor. The control unit being configured to determine an impedance of the capacitive sensor and to determine a characteristic of the capacitive sensor based on at least the impedance. The control unit being further configured to determine a characteristic of the decoupling device based on the characteristic of the capacitive sensor and to provide an estimated capacitance based on the characteristic of the decoupling device, the estimated capacitance being indicative of the state of the capacitive sensor.
