A magnetic safety gate latch assembly and method of operation. The assembly includes: a pool latch tube, a user-actuated coupled to the top end of the pool latch tube; a rotatable shaft within the pool latch tube, an upper end of the shaft rigidly coupled to the lid, and a lower end of the shaft including a shaped base. The assembly further includes a magnet housing that at least partially encloses the shaped base and includes an aperture to cooperatively engage with the shaped base. The assembly further includes a bottom cover coupled to the lower end of the pool latch tube and enclosing the magnet housing, the bottom cover including an aperture facing a latch pin housing, the aperture positioned to expose a magnet. The assembly further includes a ferromagnetic latch pin and housing, and a magnetic latch pin guide slidably enclosing the latch pin.

Magnetic safety gate latch

A magnetic safety gate latch assembly and method of operation. The assembly includes: a pool latch tube, a user-actuated lid coupled to the top end of the pool latch tube; a rotatable shaft within the pool latch tube, an upper end of the shaft rigidly coupled to the lid, and a lower end of the shaft including a shaped base. The assembly further includes a magnet housing that at least partially encloses the shaped base and includes an aperture to cooperatively engage with the shaped base. The assembly further includes a bottom cover coupled to the lower end of the pool latch tube and enclosing the magnet housing, the bottom cover including an aperture facing a latch pin housing, the aperture positioned to expose a magnet. The assembly further includes a ferromagnetic latch pin and housing, and a magnetic latch pin guide slidably enclosing the latch pin.

Magnetic safety gate latch assembly including a first subassembly and a second subassembly. The first subassembly includes: a vertically-oriented pool latch tube; a lift mechanism coupled to the top end of the pool latch tube; a shaft vertically oriented within the pool latch tube, coupled to the lift mechanism, and having a lower end including a helical thread; a magnet and magnet housing, the magnet housing coupled to the helical threading of the shaft; and a bottom cover coupled to the lower end of the pool latch tube and enclosing the magnet housing, the bottom cover including an aperture on a vertical side facing a latch pin housing, the aperture positioned to expose the magnet. The second subassembly includes the latch pin housing; a ferromagnetic latch pin; and a magnetic latch pin guide coupled to the latch pin housing and slidably enclosing at least a portion of the latch pin.

A self closing and adjustable closing force cam hinge includes a compression spring located on the hinge so that a hinge pin passes through the compression spring and the head of the hinge pin is retracted in a direction away from the compression spring to compress the compression spring. Compression of the spring applies a closing force to the hinge when the hinge is in the open position. The hinge also includes a spring adjuster having an adjustably positionable body that is adjustably positionable relative to the head of the hinge pin. Adjustment of the position of the adjustably positionable body raises or lowers the head of the hinge pin such that raising of the hinge pin increases compression of the compression spring to increase the closing force applied by the compression spring and lowering of the hinge decreases compression of the compression spring to decrease the closing force applied by the compression spring.

Cam hinge with tension control system

An adjustable hinge includes a tension spring having a first end and an opposite second end, the second end of the tension spring being fixed relative to a swing arm hinge mount, a pin having a head including a plurality of projections about a circumference of the head and an opposite end of the pin spaced from the head. The projections of the head are configured to be received by the recesses of a base plate hinge mount, and the pin is positioned to extend through the base plate hinge mount and the swing arm hinge mount and to cooperate with the tension spring so that a first end of the spring is fixed relative to the head of the pin, and then the head of the pin is rotated the first end of the spring also rotates.

Adjustable self-closing butterfly fence hinge

An adjustable hinge includes a hinge housing rotatably mounted relative to a body, a spring located within the hinge housing, and a spring adjustment system. The spring adjustment system includes a pin having a head including a plurality of projections about a circumference of the head and an opposite end of the pin spaced from the head.
