A method for reading a digital graphical diagram representing an electric circuit is provided. The graphical diagram includes one or more diagram pages, each representing a portion of the electric circuit. The method includes for each diagram page detecting the graphical objects included in the diagram page, for each diagram page basing on the detected graphical objects, obtaining predictive information related to the components included in the portion of electric circuit represented in the diagram page, and for each diagram page harmonizing the predictive information related to the components of the portion of electric circuit represented in the diagram page to obtain an identification list of the components of the electric circuit.

A switching apparatus for an electric grid includes first and second electric terminals, each having first and second electric branches having a plurality of switching devices. The first electric branch includes a first switching device switchable between open and closed states, which is driven by a current flowing along said first switching device and without receiving an external control signal or an external power supply, said first switching device switching from said closed state to said open state, when the current flowing along said switching apparatus exceeds a corresponding predefined threshold value or when the changing rate of the current flowing along said switching apparatus exceeds a corresponding predefined threshold value or upon a combination of these two conditions. A second switching device is connected in series with the first switching device and is switchable between closed and open states upon receiving a corresponding input control signal.

A multi-port solid-state circuit breaker system includes a first electrical power bus, a second electrical power bus, and a plurality of breaker legs conductively coupled with the first electrical power bus and the second electrical power bus in parallel with one another. Each of the plurality of breaker legs includes a first power semiconductor device coupled in series with a second power semiconductor device and an input/output port intermediate the first power semiconductor device and the second power semiconductor device. At least one of the first semiconductor device and the second semiconductor device includes an actively controlled switching device. Multi-port solid-state circuit breaker apparatuses, systems, and methods

Systems, methods, techniques and apparatuses of high current protection are disclosed. One exemplary embodiment is a power system comprising a solid-state circuit breaker including a solid-state switching device, an energy dissipation branch, an assistive branch, and a controller. The energy dissipation branch is coupled in parallel with the solid-state switching device and includes an energy dissipation device. The assistive branch is coupled in parallel with the solid-state switching device and includes a resistor, an inductor, and a galvanic isolation switching device coupled together in series. The controller is configured to determine the solid-state circuit breaker is conducting a high magnitude current, select a continuous current limiting mode or an intermittent current limiting mode, and operate the solid-state switching device based on the selected current limiting mode.

A low voltage circuit breaker is provided. The low voltage circuit breaker includes a contact system with a first contact and a second contact that are electrically connectable and disconnectable relative to one another. The first contact includes a body having a first layer and a second layer, wherein the first layer is arranged on the second layer and is configured to come in contact with the second contact for providing the electrical connection with the second contact. The first layer has a first material composition having an Ag content that is higher than an Ag content of a second material composition of the second layer. Further, the first material composition has a WC content that is lower than a WC content of the second material composition.

A heat exchange device may be based on a pulsating heat pipe and a cooling arrangement. The heat exchange device may include a plurality of pipes to provide fluid paths between a first fluid distribution element and a second fluid distribution element. Each pipe of the plurality of pipes may include a group of channels. Each of the first and second fluid distribution elements may include a plate of a first type. Each plate of the first type may include openings for providing alignment functionality for the plurality of pipes. The first fluid distribution element may include a plate of a second type that may include openings for providing fluid paths between the pipes. The plate of the second type may be positioned on a side of the plate of the first type of plates of the first fluid distribution element that is opposite to the second fluid distribution element.

A hybrid current switching device has a casing which includes a main current switch having first fixed and movable contacts connected in series with first and second terminals, a power switch device connected in parallel with the main current switch and switchable between an on-state and an off-state, a secondary current switch having second fixed and movable contacts and being connected in series with the power switch device, and a movable-contacts holding shaft on which the first and second movable contacts are mounted. The contacts-holding shaft is positioned inside the casing rotating around a rotation axis to move the movable contacts between a closed position where they are coupled with the corresponding fixed contacts and an open position where they are electrically separated therefrom. The first and second movable contacts are mounted on the rotating shaft with an angular offset relative to each other when in the open position.

Hybrid current switching device

A system and method are provided for protecting a power grid against electric faults. A first circuit breaker is associated with a first electronic unit and positioned at a first hierarchy level. One or more additional circuit breakers, each including a corresponding second electronic unit, are positioned at one or more additional levels hierarchically lower than the first level and cascaded to each other. The first circuit breaker includes at least one semiconductor electronic breaking device. The first electronic unit is configured to, upon the appearance of an electric fault in a grid area, drive the breaking device to limit the current flowing through it for a predetermined period of time, and send to the circuit breakers on lower hierarchy levels an intervention command to allow intervention, among the circuit breakers that detected the fault, of the closest circuit breaker positioned immediately upstream from the area where the fault occurred.
