A mowing machine having cutting elements and a beam for attaching to a tractor, and an intermediate structure to which is connected the beam, the cutting elements comprising a first and a second cutting group each group extending on the opposite side of the intermediate structure. The cutting groups are removably mounted on the intermediate structure and optionally are associated with conditioning members for further handling harvested produce.

Mowing machine

A machine for planting seeds includes a rotary soil lifting device which lifts broken-up soil, a tamping roller which tamps the remaining broken-up soil, an arrangement for placing seeds onto the upper surface of the tamped layer of the ground, and an arrangement for conveying the soil lifted by the soil lifting device past and upwardly of the tamping roller and for depositing this soil onto the tamped surface and onto the seeds placed thereon as a layer of uniform thickness. A compacting roller may be used to compact the soil of this layer after the formation of the latter, and the machine includes breaking-up tools of the fixed or rotating type mounted at the front region of the machine for breaking up the soil prior to and to a depth sufficient for the performance of the lifting operation by the soil lifting device. The conveying arrangement may include two hoods which together define a passage through which the lifted soil advances upwardly of and beyond the tamping roller. The discharge ends of tubes which constitute parts of the seed placing arrangement may be moved closer to the tamping roller to allow the seeds to spread out in random fashion, or closer to the area at which the lifted soil descends onto the ground to achieve planting in rows.

An agricultural machine to be pulled by a tractor and having working tools driven by outer driving sources comprises a chassis arranged to support the working tools, a beam unit arranged for connecting the chassis with a tractor and including a first beam and a second beam, a transmission including a first portion and a second portion turnable relative to one another and arranged so that the first portion is connected with the first beam turnable relative to one another about an upward axis of turning of the portions whereas the second portion is fixedly connected with the second beam, a locking element arranged to lock the rotation between the first portion and the first beam, and a driving device arranged in the transmission and including two input shafts located in the first portion and receiving the movement from one driving source, an output shaft located in the second portion and adapted to transmit movement to the working tools at approximately the same speed independently of the input shafts which receives the movement, and intermediate driving element interconnecting the two input shafts and the output shaft, the working position of the input shaft which receives the movement of one outer driving source is determined by the locking element which locks the rotation between the first portion and the first beam.

Agricultural machine

In a mower having a frame and a plurality of rotatable disks supported by the frame, a driving device is operable to rotate each disk, and includes a driving wheel associated with each disk, and a shaft in driven connection with a corresponding driving wheel. A coupling in driven connection with a corresponding shaft for coupling a corresponding disk to the corresponding shaft is provided, and an antifriction bearing guides the corresponding shaft. Each driving wheel and its corresponding shaft, coupling and anti-friction bearing constitutes a separately replaceable subassembly in the mower.

A rotary mower includes first and second supports extending in a predetermined direction and connected to one another end-to-end, and a set of elongated blade carriers rotatably mounted on each support. Each blade carrier, upon rotation, defines a trajectory, and neighboring blade carriers on opposite supports are mounted so that their trajectories do not overlap. First and second drive units are provided to drive each set of elongated blade carriers, respectively.

A mower-conditioner for cutting and conditioning grass or other fodder comprises in combination a housing accommodating a cutting device (for example a bottom-driven disc-type rotary scythe device or a reciprocating cutter bar device) and a first conditioning device (for example a flail drum rotating about a horizontal axis and provided with pivotally-mounted flails), and a second conditioning device (for example a belt-driven fluted drum). The said first and second devices have at least one element (for example the said flail drum and driving belts or the like) in common. There are combs and grids to act on the cut fodder, and the mower-conditioner is readily adjustable for the treatment or production of different kinds of fodder.

The disclosure is of, in a mower which works over a great cutter width and comprises cutter discs or cutter drums or cutter belt pulleys or other rotary elements involved in the cutting operation, at least one device for reducing the width of the windrows comprising an endless flexible windrowing member which travels around two drums having substantially vertical axes of rotation, the first of said drums being approximately above one of said rotary elements at one extremity of the mower, the second of said drums being spaced to the rear of and nearer to the middle of the mower so that the windrowing member follows a path at an acute angle to the cutting front, at least one of said drums being driven at a speed different from that of said rotary elements so that the windrowing member impels cut fodder from a margin towards the middle of the windrow.

The disclosure is of a fodder mower-conditioner mounted laterally of a tractor and comprising two or more rotary-scythe cutters and one or more conditioning rotors all rotating about axes which as viewed from above fall within a horizontal plane of a width equal to and containing the horizontal diameters of the tractor rear wheel tires, the rear wheel tire which is nearer the mower-conditioner being nearer to the nearest cutter trajectory than to the nearest conditioning rotor bearing.

The disclosure is of a machine of mower or mower-conditioner type in which the working width is substantially equal to the total width and a drive element directly communicates its rotating movement to one of the discs mounted on an elongated housing which supports all the discs, of which that which co-operates with the drive element can advantageously be uncoupled therefrom.
