The disclosure relates to an integrated circuit and associated method and packaged integrated circuit. The integrated circuit comprises a first pad; a second pad; an active element having a node that is capacitively coupled to the first and second pads; a voltage or current source connected to the first pad; and a detection module connected to the second pad and configured to determine an electrical continuity between the second pad and the first pad.

Integrated circuit and associated method

A receiver-system comprising a path-switching-unit, a redirect-switching-unit, a plurality of receive-paths, and a processor. The path-switching-unit has a plurality of path-switch-input-terminals that are each couplable to a receive-antenna. The redirect-switching-unit has a plurality of redirect-switch-output-terminals that are each associated with one of the plurality of path-switch-input-terminals in order to define a plurality of switch-terminal-pairs. The receive-paths are connected between a path-switch-output-terminal and a redirect-switch-input-terminal. The path-switching-unit and the redirect-switching-unit are configured to selectively connect each receive-path between different ones of the plurality of switch-terminal-pairs, based on a switch-control-signal. The processor can receive first-processor-input-signals from a first configuration of the plurality of receive paths selectively connected between the plurality of switch-terminal-pairs; receive further-processor-input-signals from one or more further configurations of the plurality of receive-paths selectively connected between the plurality of switch-terminal-pairs; and determine an angle-of-arrival associated with the input-signals based on the first-processor-input-signals and further-processor-input-signals.

Receiver-system

A circuit for tuning an impedance matching network is disclosed. The circuit includes a current sensor, a control circuit coupled to the current sensor and a reference current source and a tunable capacitor coupled to the control circuit. The control circuit is configured to generate a control signal based on an output of the current sensor, wherein the control signal is configured to vary a capacitance of the tunable capacitor.

Impedance tuning circuit

A system for measuring impedance is disclosed. The system is designed to be connected with an external unknown impedance. The system includes a reference signal generator, an impedance component coupled to the reference signal generator, a local oscillator configured to generate a signal of a selected frequency, a plurality of frequency mixers coupled to the impedance component and the local oscillator and a switch connected across the impedance component in such a way that the impedance component is bypassed when the switch is on.

The system includes a test tone generator, a radio frequency (RF) receiver, a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) coupled to the RF receiver and a controller coupled to the RSSI. An apparatus for storing digital media utilizes an electrically conductive element, which is for reading stored digital media, and multiple electrically conductive resonant circuits as an antenna for radio frequency communications. Each of the resonant circuits is electrically isolated from the other resonant circuits and the electrically conductive element is electrically isolated from each of the resonant circuits. As a result, the apparatus for storing digital media has a relatively wide operating frequency range and a relatively long communications range, which allows worldwide usage in various applications. For example, an optically readable compact disk (CD) utilizes a metal layer configured as a reflective surface for reading stored digital media in the CD, an electrically conductive component that is not in contact with a radio frequency identification (RFID) integrated circuit (IC), and an electrically conductive component that is in contact with the RFID IC, as an antenna for the RFID IC.

Circuit arrangement for transmitting and receiving radio signals simultaneously

A circuit for increasing a supply voltage comprises a transmitter for transmitting a radio signal, with an amplifying device having a supply input for a first supply potential, and a signal output with an antenna connected thereto. Furthermore, the circuit includes a circuit arrangement with a supply input for a second supply potential that is greater than the first supply potential. A voltage rectification circuit is provided that is connected to the signal output of the amplifying device and to the supply input of the circuit arrangement. As a result, an RF input signal is transformed into a rectified voltage. The amplifying device amplifies the radio signal to such an extent that the sum of the rectified voltage and of a first supply voltage is as great as a second supply voltage.
