An arrangement of air flaps for a motor vehicle, comprising an air flap frame which surrounds a through-flow opening, as well as at least one air flap which is movably mounted on the air flap frame, for changing the effective through-flow area of said through-flow opening, said at least one air flap at least protruding into the through-flow opening and preferably extending across said opening; said arrangement of air flaps including a Hall effect sensor and a detection section comprising magnetizable or permanently magnetized material and which cooperates in such a manner with a detecting section of the Hall effect sensor, the Hall effector sensor that detects a magnetic field emanating from the detection section, emits a detection signal when the at least one air flap is in a prescribed reference position relative to the air flap frame, which is different from a detection signal emitted by the Hall effect sensor when the at least one air flap is not in the prescribed position.

Magnetic field based detection of the operating status of air flap

A motor vehicle component assembly including an air door assembly having an air door frame, on which at least one air door is movably arranged for adjusting the area through which air can flow in an air flow opening; a heat source that can include a coolant heat exchanger and/or an internal combustion engine; a blower which in the rated operating mode generates an operating air flow from the air door assembly toward the heat source; a sensor device that detects at least one operating variable and/or one state variable of the motor vehicle component assembly, and/or one state variable of the area surrounding the motor vehicle component assembly, and on the basis of this detection, outputs at least one detection variable; and a control device, which is configured to control the operation of the blower, the control device being configured to operate the blower, based on the at least one detected variable, in a deicing mode that is different from the rated operating mode, in which the blower generates a deicing air flow from the heat source toward the air door assembly.

Device and method for fan-based deicing of air door assemblies

An air flap device for a motor vehicle, having an air flap member with a flow-through opening and having a plurality of air flaps, which protrude into the flow-through opening or pass through it and which are each mounted on the air flap member so that they can move between a blocking position as a working position and a feed-through position as another working position, wherein each air flap in its blocking position interferes with flow through the flow-through opening as intended to a greater extent than in the feed-through position, wherein the air flap device has, as one operating position, a closed position, in which each air flap of the plurality of air flaps is in the blocking position as the working position associated with the closed position, and has an open position as another operating position, in which each air flap of the plurality of air flaps is in the feed-through position as the working position associated with the open position, the air flap device having a drive device for supplying a driving force for the movement of the air flaps between the blocking position and the feed-through position and a coupling device for transfer of the driving force supplied by the drive device to the air flaps, the coupling device is coupled to the plurality of air flaps such that at least some of the air flaps, because of an adjustment operation of the air flap device into a target operating position, reach their target working positions associated with the target operating position at different points in time.
