A medical monitoring unit for continuously monitoring a glucose value and a lactate value is provided. The monitoring unit comprises: a display unit, a first unit adapted to: receive a glucose/lactate/pyruvate signal based on a measured glucose/lactate/pyruvate value, transform the glucose signal into a graphically displayable glucose/lactate/pyruvate signal, and transmit the graphically displayable glucose/lactate/pyruvate signal to the display unit of the monitoring unit, and a second unit adapted to: receive a glucose/lactate/pyruvate signal based on a measured glucose/lactate/pyruvate value, transform the glucose/lactate/pyruvate signal into a graphically displayable glucose/lactate/pyruvate signal, and transmit the graphically displayable glucose/lactate/pyruvate signal to the display unit of the monitoring unit. Furthermore, a system comprising the monitoring unit, and a sensor unit for sensing glucose and/or lactate and/or pyruvate values, is provided, as well as a method for performing the steps made possible through the provided unit and method.

System and method for continuously monitoring and presenting body substances

A measuring system for measuring the concentration of substances or analytes in a body fluid or in a body tissue comprises a microdialysis probe comprising a microdialysis membrane, the probe being adapted to be placed in blood or in tissue, a flow through sensor for analyzing a fluid having passed the microdialysis probe, a pump for pumping the fluid to and through the microdialysis probe and further to and through the sensor, and tubing connecting the pump to the microdialysis probe and the microdialysis probe to the sensor. The pump effects a flow rate in the system in the interval 0.2-15 microliters per minute. The sensor comprises a flow channel having a flow resistance or pressure drop adapted to the characteristics of the microdialysis membrane so as to eliminate, or at least substantially reduce, ultra filtering in the microdialysis membrane.

On-line measuring system of body substances

The invention relates to a method and arrangement for continuously measuring substances in a pressurised body fluid. A probe () for enabling continuous measurement of the concentration of one or more substances in a pressurized body fluid is provided. The probe is adapted to be inserted into the pressurized body fluid, and comprises an interface and an outlet lumen. Furthermore, the probe is configured so that a continuous and spontaneous fluid flow is established from the body fluid through the interface to the outlet lumen. The fluid flow from the outlet may be analyzed by a sensor.

Self-flowing measuring system

A measuring system () for continuously measuring body fluid constituents, said measuring system () comprising a microdialysis catheter or probe () comprising a microdialysis membrane () to be placed in a blood stream or in tissue fluid. The measuring system further comprises a flow through sensor () for continuously measuring the concentration of substances present in the fluid that has passed the microdialysis membrane (). The measuring system () further comprises a waste container ().
