A sectional door operator system for opening and closing an opening comprises a door moved between open (O) and closed (C) positions and formed by horizontal and interconnected sections. The door is connected with a door frame with frame sections on opposite sides of the opening. A drive unit system is mounted on one of the sections that moves the sectional door from the closed position (C) to the open position (O). The drive unit system comprises first and second drive units, mounted on opposite sides of the section that each have a drive motor. A sensor device is mounted on a section and connected with a control unit. The control unit controls the drive unit system at least based on sensor data. The sensor data relates to an angle (φ) of the door in relation to a true horizontal plane of the sectional door operator system.

Sectional door operator system

A door operation system opens and closes an opening with a door. A drive unit mounted on the door and having at least one motor moves the door from the closed (C) position to the open (O) position and vice versa. An elongated transmission member extends along a side of the opening. The drive unit includes a driven transmission member in driving connection with the motor that is movably connected to the elongated transmission member and arranged to interplay with said elongated transmission member and to be driven along the elongated transmission member. The elongated transmission member at least partially wraps around the driven transmission member. At least one guide member with a sliding surface with a curvature is mounted to the door to interplay with the elongated transmission member to guide the elongated transmission member into contact with the driven transmission member. The elongated transmission member is configured to slide along the curvature to urge the elongated transmission member to flex and follow the curvature.

Door operator system

The disclosure relates to an overhead door operator system and to a method for controlling such a system. The overhead door operator system opens and closes an opening. The system includes a first frame section (4) at a first side (7) of the opening (2) and a second frame section (6) at a second side (5) of the opening (2). A door (8) is movably connected to the door frame (3). A drive unit (10) is mounted on the door (8). An elongated transmission member (19) extends along the first side (7) of the opening (2) and the first frame section (4). The drive unit (10) includes a driven transmission member (18) in driving connection with the motor (11) and the elongated transmission member. The method comprises the steps of: detecting door movement; determining if detected door movement relates to unexpected door movement; and, if so, taking action so as to prevent more extensive damages.

Overhead door operator system

A sectional door operator system (I) opens and closes an opening () by operating a plurality of horizontal and interconnected sections (-) that form a sectional door. A door frame () is formed by first frame section () at a first side () of the opening () and a second frame section () at a second side () of the opening (). The plurality of horizontal and interconnected sections (-) are connected to the door frame () to move between an open and a closed position. A drive unit (IO) is mounted on a section () of the door. The drive unit (IO) is arranged to move the sectional door () from the closed position (C) to the open position (). The drive unit (IO) includes a first motor (I la) and a second motor (I lb, which are mounted at different vertical sides of the horizontal and interconnected section (). A control unit () controls the operation of the drive unit (IO). A first sensing element () and a second sensing element () provide operational data of the first and second motor () to the control unit ().

An overhead door operator system () for opening and closing an opening (), comprising a door frame () comprising a first frame section () at a first side () of the opening () and a second frame section () at a second side () of the opening (). The operator system further comprises a door () arranged to be moved between an open and closed (C) position, the door () being movably connected to the door frame () and a drive unit () mounted on the door (), the drive unit () comprising at least one motor () arranged to move the door () from the closed position (C) to the open position (O). An elongated transmission member () extends along the first side () of the opening () and the first frame section (). The drive unit () further comprises a driven transmission member () in driving connection with the motor ().

A method of arranging an overhead sectional door (SD) in a doorframe () that defines a door opening, the overhead sectional door (SD) comprising a plurality of door panel sections (). The method disclosed herein involves: a) fitting a first door panel section () in the doorframe (), b) fitting a second door panel section () in the doorframe (), and c) actuating an electric motor (M) to cause the first door panel section () to push the section door panel section () a distance in an upward direction. The method further involves: d) securing the second door panel section () with respect to the doorframe (), e) causing said at least one electric motor (M) to move the first door panel section () a distance in a downward direction, thereby leaving a space () between the secured door panel section and the first door panel section (), f) fitting a next door panel section () in the space (), and g) causing said at least one electric motor (M) to move the first door panel section () a distance in an upward direction. Further, the method involves: h) unsecuring the secured door panel section () with respect to the doorframe (), causing said at least one electric motor (M) to move the first door panel section () a further distance in an upward direction, engaging the top edge of the next door panel section () with the bottom edge of the previously secured door panel section (), and securing the next door panel section () with respect to the doorframe (). The method also involves repeating steps e) to h) for each next door panel section () until at least all but a last door panel section of the overhead sectional door (SD) have been arranged.
