The present invention concerns an apparatus, in particular a cover for a rotor (51), for the initiation of the spinning of a thread in an open-end spinning apparatus (1), which apparatus possesses a fiber feed conduit (6) which extends from a disintegrating apparatus (4) to a spin rotor (50), which is installed in a rotor housing (5) in combination with a controllable vacuum source, and which rotor (50) is covered with a rotor cover (51) which also accepts the fiber feed conduit (6), at least partially. The apparatus exhibits further a service wagon (2) for the open-end spinning apparatus (1), which wagon carries a suction line (20) to a connection piece (7) of the open-end spinning apparatus (1). The connection piece (7) is in communication with a connection opening (70) in the fiber feed conduit (6) and is in a break-away sealed connection with the rotor cover (51). The connection opening (70) is surrounded by a surface (700) for contact to a sealing element (731) which is integral with the connection piece (7).

Apparatus for the initiation of spinning a thread on an open-end

In the recess of a housing (4) of an open-end spinning device containing a driven opener roller (40), an insertion piece (32) is provided which contains the first channel part (30) of a fiber feeding channel. The insertion piece (32) is installed in housing (4) by an elastic retaining element in such a manner as to be replaceable. The retaining element may be part of a catch and be formed for this purpose by a ring or pot-like insert (43) which lines the interior of the housing (4) containing the opener roller (40) and which has technologically necessary openings (430, 432, 431) in its circumferential wall. The edges of the lateral walls of the first channel part (30) towards the ring or pot-shaped insert are adapted to the curvature of the insert (43). These lateral walls extend, relative to a perpendicular dropped from the center of the insert (43) on the longitudinal axis of the insertion piece (32), up to the side of the perpendicular (323) away from the spinning element (10).

Open-end spinning device having an improved fiber feeding channel

The opener roller housing of an open and spinning device is provided with a stop for a rotor cover and for axial adjustment of the rotor shaft support. The stop is located on the side of the fiber feeding channel section of the opener roller housing which is closest to the open-end spinning rotor and is preferably an integral part of the opener roller housing. The stop is furthermore connected to a guide for the rotor cover.
