An apparatus for measuring a surface of a workpiece has a multi-link articulated arm and a roughness sensor carried by the arm, which includes a sensing element linearly displaceable along an advance direction and elastically deflectable along a deflection direction, and which has a coupling link to connect it to a movable carrier of a coordinate measuring apparatus or of a robot. A first arm portion is rotatable relative to the coupling link about a first axis of rotation. A second arm portion is rotatable relative to the first arm portion about a second axis of rotation and arranged between the first and third arm portion which is rotatable relative to the second arm portion about a third axis of rotation, and to which the roughness sensor is fastened. The deflection direction is arranged parallel to the third axis while the sensing element is displaced linearly along the advance direction.

Apparatus for measuring the roughness of a workpiece surface

Rotating/pivoting sensor system for a coordinate measuring apparatus

A method for measuring the coordinates of workplaces on a coordinate-measuring device has a probe head including a probe and a probe sensor associated therewith. The method includes generating a probe signal when the probe contacts a workpiece. From this signal, dimensional values are determined that represent the position of the probe head when the workpiece is contacted. The probe head additionally includes an acceleration sensor generating an acceleration signal when the probe head accelerates, wherein the probe signal and the acceleration signal are fed to a control and analysis unit for analysis. This unit determines the dimensional values so that an analysis signal is determined by subtracting the probe signal and the acceleration signal from each other, and the dimensional values representing the position of the probe head when contacting the workpiece are determined only using the analysis signal.

Method for measuring the coordinates of workpieces on a coordinate-measuring apparatus

A sensor in the probe head of a coordinate measuring device supplies probe signals. The first, and if necessary, higher time derivatives of the probe signals are formed and evaluated for the exact determination of the moment of contact of the probe head with a workpiece to be measured. During the evaluation, the time course of the differentiated signals is examined by means of automatically generated trigger thresholds.
