A remote control is described for controlling at least one group of flash devices for photography. The remote control is configured to send a pre-flash trigger signal, T, to the flash devices for initiating a pre-flash (PF), and to receive, from the camera, a flash adjustment value, VA. The remote control comprises a display and is configured to determine a main flash strength value, V, based on a pre-flash strength value, V, stored in the remote control, the flash adjustment value, VA, and a predetermined relationship between the pre-flash strength value, V, the flash adjustment value, VA, and the main flash strength value, V. The remote control displays the main flash strength value, V, on a display and sends a wireless main flash trigger signal, T, to the flash devices, for initiating a main flash, MF, with adjusted flash strengths.

The present disclosure relates to a computer implemented method and system for obtaining an image sensor exposure setting for use in capturing an image using a main flash. The method comprises the steps of obtaining first pre-image data related to a first pre-image captured using a predetermined first image sensor pre-image exposure setting, wherein the first pre-image is captured while emitting a flash of a predetermined first pre-flash energy; obtaining second pre-image data related to a second pre-image captured using a predetermined second image sensor pre-image exposure setting, wherein the second pre-image is captured while emitting a flash of a predetermined second pre-flash energy different than the first pre-flash energy; determining a flash effected area in the second pre-image in which a predetermined ratio of the image sensor pixel values have changed from the first pre-image; and determining the image sensor exposure setting for use in capturing the image based on the first and the second set of image senor pixel values in the flash affected area, the predetermined first and second image sensor pre-image exposure setting and a relation between a predetermined main flash energy, the energy of the predetermined first pre-flash and the energy of the predetermined second pre-flash, respectively.

Computer implemented method and a system for obtaining a camera setting

The present disclosure relates to a flash generator for providing power supply to a flash tube so that the flash tube rapidly provides a light output adapted to FP-sync, Flat Peak. The flash generator comprises a capacitor bank, an output and a switch configured to switch a current flow from the capacitor bank via the output to provide a variable power via the output. The flash generator further comprises a controller for controlling the switch, whereby by controlling the on time of the switch, the generator is operative to provide, during a time period of 100 to 2000 &#x3bc;s during a peak time period within the time period, an average power at least 4 times higher than the average power provided during the other time period within the time period, whereby the flash tube during the peak time period becomes fully ignited.

A generator for a flash device includes at least a first capacitor bank, which includes at least one capacitor of a first type and at least a second capacitor bank, which includes at least one capacitor of a second type. The first capacitor bank is connectable to a charger via a first switch and the second capacitor bank is connectable to a charger via a second switch. The generator is configured to individually control the first switch and the second switch so that the first capacitor bank and the second capacitor bank can be individually charged to the same or different voltages. Since the first capacitor bank and the second capacitor bank can be simultaneously discharged, it is possible to achieve a desired energy level and color temperature from a flash device connected to the generator.
