A seating assembly comprises: a head restraint that can be both separated from a seatback to a separated position, and remotely actuated via a user-accessible manipulable device located away from the head restraint to move the head restraint to a folded position when coupled to the seatback in an extending position. A cable of the seatback is not operably coupled with the head restraint when the user-accessible manipulable device is not manipulated but becomes operably coupled with the head restraint, when the user-accessible manipulable device is manipulated and the head restraint is in the extending position, to cause the head restraint to move from an upright position to the folded position. The cable of the seatback extends into a post receiver and operably couples with the head restraint within the post receiver when the head restraint is in the extending position and the user-accessible manipulable device is manipulated.

A climate controlled seat test apparatus is provided. The test apparatus may have a pump arrangement configured to alter a pressure within a vicinity of a climate controlled portion of a vehicle seat. A controller may be programmed to detect airflow obstructions or losses within the climate controlled portion of the seat. The climate controlled portion may include a blower motor. The controller may detect airflow obstructions and/or losses based on a change in current consumed by the blower motor caused by the pump arrangement altering the pressure within the vicinity of the climate controlled portion.

Apparatus and method for testing a climate controlled vehicle seat

A control device for regulating adjustment of vehicle seats is disclosed. The control device is a dual function control arm which combines the manual recliner and lumbar mechanism into a single handle. The handle is moved in a first direction to release the seat back recliner mechanism without affecting the lumbar adjustment mechanism. The same handle is moved in a second direction to actuate the lumbar adjustment mechanism without affecting the recliner mechanism.

A reclining rear seat for a motor vehicle such as a pick-up truck is provided. The rear seat utilizes a pivoting, four-bar link arrangement between the underside of the seat bottom and the vehicle floor. The seat back is slidably and releasably attached to a striker fitted to the inside back wall of the vehicle. This arrangement permits the occupant to selectively move the seat between a reclining position and a non-reclining position without compromising storage space between the front seat and the rear seat. When not in use, the seat bottom may be released and moved to a substantially vertical position against the seat back to increase cargo space. Alternatively, the seat back may be released and moved to a substantially horizontal position against the seat bottom to increase cargo space.
