A computer-implemented method for damping a vehicle, including: receiving external load data for the vehicle; receiving at least one damper velocity of a damper of the vehicle; providing an optimization model configured to describe a relation between external load data for a vehicle, at least one damper velocity of a damper of a vehicle, and at least one damper force of the at least one damper; determining at least one damper force of the damper for the vehicle by inputting the external load data and the at least one damper velocity into the optimization model; and providing the at least one damper force of the at least one damper of the vehicle.

Method for damping a vehicle

Systems, computer-implemented methods, and computer program products relating to jerk of a vehicle damper are provided. According to an embodiment, a system can comprise a memory that stores computer executable components and a processor that executes the computer executable components stored in the memory. The computer executable components can comprise a control signal determination component that determines movement of a front damper of a vehicle, an amount of time between a first time when the movement of the front damper occurs and a second time when a rear damper of the vehicle will experience a condition which caused the movement of the front damper, and a front damping coefficient of the front damper, and determines a rear damping coefficient of the rear damper configured to mitigate rear suspension impact with an end stop caused by rear suspension compression or rebound based on the movement of the front damper, the amount of time, and the front damping coefficient, and a damper adjustment component that adjusts the rear damper to the rear damping coefficient.

Rear damper adjustment

Systems, computer-implemented methods, and computer program products relating to jerk of a vehicle damper are provided. According to an embodiment, a system can comprise a memory that stores computer executable components and a processor that executes the computer executable components stored in the memory. The computer executable components can comprise a control signal determination component that determines a new damping coefficient for a vehicle damper and determines a rate of change of acceleration from a current damping coefficient of the vehicle damper to a new damping coefficient for the vehicle damper, wherein the rate of change is based on a movement signal of the vehicle damper, and a damper adjustment component that adjusts to the new damping coefficient at the rate of change.

Limiting vehicle damper jerk

In general, techniques are described by which a computing system detects low-impact collisions. A computing system includes at least one processor and memory. The memory includes instructions that, when executed, cause the at least one processor to determine whether an object collided with a vehicle based on a comparison of data received from at least one motion sensor configured to measure at least an acceleration of the vehicle and data received from a plurality of level sensors, wherein each level sensor is configured to measure a relative position between a body of the vehicle and a respective wheel of a plurality of wheels of the vehicle. Execution of the instructions further causes the at least one processor to perform one or more actions in response to determining that the object collided with the vehicle.

Low-impact collision detection

The present disclosure relates to a method for computing a friction estimate between a road surface and a tire of a vehicle. The method comprises applying a controllable torque to at least one of wheel of the vehicle and determining a vehicle velocity when the controllable torque is applied. Estimate a present tire force acting on the first tire when the torque is applied. Based on a vehicle velocity, estimate the present slip of the tire. Determining a present gradient of the tire force with respect to the slip based on the present tire force and the value indicative of the present slip. When the present gradient exceeds a predetermined first gradient threshold value and is below predetermined second gradient threshold value, compute the friction estimate.

Method and system for computing a road friction estimate

The present disclosure relates to a method and arrangement for estimating a friction coefficient (&#x3bc;) between tires of a wheeled two-axis two-track road vehicle and the ground. If the longitudinal velocity &#x3bd;of the vehicle is above a first threshold &#x3bd;and the wheel angle &#x3b4;and/or the yaw rate &#x3a9;are/is below a second threshold &#x3b4;/&#x3a9;, a positive torque is applied to both wheels on a first axle and an and opposite, negative torque, to both wheels on a second axle while following driver requested longitudinal vehicle acceleration (a). Wheel speeds &#x3c9;are measured and tire forces (f) estimated. The friction coefficient (&#x3bc;) between the tires and the ground are estimated from the measured wheel speeds &#x3c9;and the estimated tire forces (f). The estimated friction coefficient (&#x3bc;) is made available to other vehicle systems.
