A ventilation system includes a blower wheel () and a drive motor () with an external rotor (). The blower wheel () includes a central part () having a cylindrical wall () and defines a housing () to house the external rotor (). The blower wheel () further includes a frontal wall () comprising an opening () so as to exhibit a degree of openness that is greater than a predefined degree of openness.

Ventilation system

A blower wheel for setting a flow of air in circulation has vanes () that extend from a vane root attached to a hub () of the blower wheel. The hub () has a bottom wall () through which a through-orifice () for a drive shaft of the blower wheel passes, and a side wall (). The hub () also has at least one rib () located between the orifice () and the side wall (). The rib () is formed by one or more segments (). The segment, or one of the segments (), has at least one free edge () extending from the bottom wall () and facing toward the side wall ().

The fan impeller () comprises a hub () and blades () extending radially outward from the hub, the blades having a flattened airfoil profile cross section with a leading edge () and a trailing edge () between which a chord is defined. The blade () has a relative thickness that reached its maximum value (E) in the first quarter of the length of the chord measured from the leading edge (), the relative thickness being defined by the ratio between the thickness of the blade and the length of the chord. The invention finds an application particularly in motor vehicle engine cooling fan impellers.
