A method for decoding a coded data stream representing a video having a first view and a second view different from the first view, in which a reference image of the second view is previously reconstructed. For a current block of a current image of the first view, a motion information item associated with the current block representative of a displacement of the current block in the previously reconstructed reference image, is obtained. A prediction block is obtained based on the previously reconstructed reference image of the second view and of the obtained motion information item. The current block is reconstructed based on the prediction block, a prediction residual information item decoded based on the coded data stream and a difference information item calculated between a first block associated with the first view and a second block associated with the second view and decoded based on the coded data stream.

Method and device for coding and decoding a multi-view sequence

A method and apparatus for decoding a current view belonging to a previously coded multi-view image. The method includes: determining, in a set of views belonging to the multi-view image or to another multi-view image, a pathway of views that are necessary for the decoding of the current view, the pathway comprising at least one as yet undecoded view; decoding the at least one view not yet decoded; and decoding the current view on the basis of a set of coded data representative of at least one difference between the current view and another view of the multi-view image or of another multi-view image, and of the at least one decoded view.

Multi-view coding and decoding

The invention concerns the encoding of at least one current integral image (II) captured by an image capture device, comprising the steps consisting of: &#x2014;decomposing (C) the current integral image into at least one frame (Vu) representing a given perspective of a scene and, from at least one image capturing parameter associated with the image capture device, &#x2014;encoding (C) said at least one frame, &#x2014;decoding (C) said at least one frame, &#x2014;recomposing (C) the current integral image from said at least one decoded frame by applying an inverse decomposition of said decomposition of the integral image and from said at least one image capturing parameter associated with the image capture device, said encoding method being characterised in that it implements the steps consisting of: &#x2014;determining (C) a residual integral image by comparing said at least one current integral image with said recomposed integral image, &#x2014;encoding (C) the data associated with the residual integral image and said at least one image capturing parameter associated with the image capture device.
