A strain wave gear system () includes first and second sets of ball bearings () located intermediate a flange () and a retainer plate () rotatable with an output () and a radially oriented flat disc () of the input including strain relief (). Strain relief () is a helical slot in a coupling () located radially within the wave generator () and the ring gear (). The ring gear () is sealed by a sealing system including sealant () forced by a protrusion () of the cap () entering into a cavity () through a channel () into a relief volume () of the housing (). The bearing () rotatably mounting the housing () to the output () is lubricated by a lubricating system including plungers () threadably received in axial bores () intersecting with radial bores () in communication with radial holes () of the bearing ().

Strain wave gear system

A torque transmission device has a pinion that includes a plurality of rollers that mesh with a plurality of teeth of an output. Each roller is supported by a bearing having rotating bearing elements. A clearance compensation for the diametrical difference between a diameter of each roller and an inscribed diameter of the associated rotating bearing elements is included in the plurality of teeth of the output such that there is no interference between the plurality of rollers and the plurality of teeth.

Rotary to linear torque transmission device

A motion control apparatus in the form of a sealed rotary table () includes a first annular seal () located between a bearing cap () of a case and an inner diameter of a cylindrical flange (), and a second annular seal () located between a seal ledge () of an annular wall () of the case and the outer diameter of the cylindrical flange (). An enclosure (), the annular wall () and a planar annular disc () are integrally formed as a single piece part of homogenous material. A drive station () includes a rotor () rotatably mounted inside an annular sleeve () by a bearing () inside an annular end cap () at an axial extent less than that of the annular sleeve (). An encoder () is located within the annular end cap () and within the axial extent of the annular sleeve ().

Sealed rotary table

An apparatus (B) controls rotation of an annular member () relative to top and bottom housings (). The bottom housing () includes a disk () extending radially and terminating in a cylindrical portion () having circumferentially spaced slits (). A wedge () abuts with the cylindrical portion () and is moved radially between first and second positions by an axially moveable piston (), with the wedge including an angle surface () which interfaces with an angled surface () of the piston () through a plurality of balls (). The disk () and the cylindrical portion () are formed as a single component of material having sufficient material strength and yield to allow engagement and disengagement of the cylindrical portion () with the annular member (). The wedge () is slideable between an axial surface () of the disk () and a guiding flange () of the top housing ().
