The present invention relates to a fascia angle adapter for an eavestroughing system wherein the fascia angle adapter allows for supporting of an eavestrough hanger or other support fitting at different angles relative to a fascia board. The adapter is placed intermediate the hanger and the fascia board. The adapter has a base member having a fascia engaging surface, a top port for securing of the adapter to a fascia board, and an eccentric cam supported by the base member and movable with respect thereto whereby the cam can be moved to various positions such that the exterior surface of the cam is spaced a different distance from the fascia engaging surface. The cam member is preferably rotatably supported within the base member and has a number of planar surfaces about the periphery of the cam for defining, in cooperation with the base member, predetermined angles for known angled fascia. This arrangement provides a simple solution whereby the installer can easily adjust the angle of the eavestrough hook for optimum utility.

Fascia angle adapter for an eavestrough system

The eavestroughing system uses hidden hooks in combination with a particular evestrough which allows the effective placement of a leaf screen within the eavestroughing system. The leaf screen is engaged either side thereof in a simple manner, allowing convenient ease of insertion of the screen within the eavestroughing system and in a predetermined orientation. The eavestrough section cooperates with the hanger to provide support for the screen adjacent a forward edge of the screen and also serves to hide the forward edge of the screen within the eavestrough section. The preferred orientation of the screen advantageously is disposed at a downwardly extending angle to the forward edge of the eavestrough to encourage the movement of debris across the screen towards the forward edge where it can easily be removed by the end user and/or removed by natural causes. This natural tendency to move the debris across the screen reduces accumulation of debris on the screen. Furthermore, the particular support arrangement has higher support adjacent the forward edge and therefore, if there is any accumulation, there is better support for the screen at this position. The present system provides a simple and convenient arrangement for a fully integrated plastic eavestroughing system.

Eavestrough hook and leaf guard

An eavestrough fitting according to the present invention comprises a moulded plastic member having an improved gasket secured thereto. The gasket has at least two ribs extending across the member and up the sides thereof with the ribs sized to form a seal with an appropriately shaped eavestrough inserted within the fitting. The moulded plastic member has a generally flat base connected to outwardly angled sidewalls which terminate in a short vertical section. The gasket conforms to the shape of the moulded plastic member and includes a raised land interior to the ribs. This raised land limits the extent of deformation of the ribs while providing a resilient base for supporting the eavestrough section within the fitting. The raised land allows the eavestrough section interior to the ribs to be in contact with the land and the lower surface of the eavestrough such that grit and other debris has less of a tendency to become lodged beneath the eavestrough section.

Gasket seal

An eavestrough fitting according to the present invention comprises a body portion of a shape generally corresponding to the eavestrough to be axially received therein, with a fitting on the interior surface including an abutment member positioned to limit the extent to which an eavestrough is axially inserted within the fitting. Retaining tabs extend above and project outwardly from the abutment member and define a slot like opening between the retaining tabs and interior surface of the fitting into which an end portion of the eavestrough is inserted and retained. A sealing arrangement is moulded to the fitting on the interior surface of the fitting in front of the retaining tabs and forms an effective seal between the lower surface of the eavestrough and the eavestrough fitting. This fitting allows for an effective method of joining lengths of eavestrough, whether they be symmetrical or nonsymmetrical, and positively retain the eavestrough within the fitting. This system is designed to overcome problems associated with the solvent based adhesive.
