Generator field endwinding blocking is described. The endwinding blocking has a spacer block for radial placement between rotor endwindings. The spacer block has a spacer body with a radially inboard end, a radially outboard end, a slot extending from the outboard end towards the inboard end, and at least one transverse hole formed on an outer surface of the spacer body, extending in a perpendicular direction towards the slot. A cap covers at least a portion of the outboard end. The cap has a radially inward portion received in the slot with at least one hole aligned with the at least one traverse hole, and at least one end extending beyond a periphery of the outboard end towards an adjacent endwinding. A fastener placed in the holes of the spacer block and the radially inward portion of the cap, secures the cap with the spacer block.

A stator bar clip adapter for a liquid cooled dynamoelectric device having a stator bar bottle clip coupled to a first stator bar and a stator bar leaf clip coupled to a second, same series-loop stator bar, and a related dynamoelectric device are disclosed. The stator bar clip adapter includes a bottle clip engaging member configured to engage a stator bar bottle clip; and a leaf clip engaging member coupled to the bottle clip engaging member and configured to engage a stator bar leaf clip.

A solution is provided for tuning the frequency of a torsional mode of interest of a rotating body (such as a generator rotor torsional mode) by adding a detuner to act as an undamped torsional vibration absorber. The detuner may be coupled to an overhung shaft extending from the rotating body. The detuner may be modular, therefore weight can be added or subtracted easily from the detuner in order to adjust the stiffness and/or inertia of the overhung shaft. This change in stiffness and/or inertia yields a torsional frequency of oscillation in the overhung shaft substantially similar to the natural frequency of the torsional mode of interest of the rotating body, therefore forcing the frequency of the torsional mode of interest of the rotating body above or below its torsional natural frequency.

A brush holder assembly that cannot be assembled incorrectly includes a brush inserted into a brush holder, a block attached to the top of the brush, a spring engaging the block that applies radial pressure to the block and brush, and a hook pin that holds the spring onto the block. The block includes a semicircular indentation that cradles a coiled portion of the spring and includes a slotted hole for receiving a portion of the hook pin as the block is glued to the top of the brush. The hook pin is a loop terminating at a first end that is a straight pin and terminating at a second end that is a hook-shaped loop in which the straight pin end is inserted. Alternatively, a U-shaped spool assembly can be used to engage the coiled portion of the spring to lock it in the indentation in the block.
