Aqueous aerosol compositions are produced particularly for the delivery of an atomized oil, such as a fragrance oil, insecticidal oil or medicinal oil. The water based system, which includes a water soluble propellant and a dispersed oil phase in water with a polymeric emulsion, does not need shaking before use, is not flammable, and leaves no deposition on surfaces.

Aqueous aerosol compositions for delivery of atomized oil

A vapor emanation system includes a plastic housing having a socket portion and an electric plug portion. A decorative miniaturize container containing liquid to be evaporated by heat, has a body for storing the liquid and a neck connected to the body for engaging the socket portion of the housing for supporting the container on the housing. The neck has a passage there through and a retaining ring is fixed in the passage. A hole extends through the ring. A wick having an upper portion extending through the hole of the retaining ring also has a lower portion extending down into the body of the container for absorbing liquid from the container and for moving the liquid into the upper portion of the wick by capillary action. A tangential electric heater in the housing heats the upper portion of the wick above the neck to evaporate liquid from the wick. A retaining pin extending through the wick below the neck, extends radially beyond the wick by an amount which precludes upward extraction of the wick from the retaining ring to prevent a child from removing the wick and being exposed to the liquid.

A sprayable composition in a pump spray bottle includes a fragrance oil and reflective material. The reflective material is sized to pass through the atomizer of the pump spray bottle. Linens or clothing can be sprayed with the composition to provide a pleasant smell and sparkling appearance to the surfaces sprayed.

An arrangement is used with a light bulb for emitting fragrance. The arrangement has a ring or other shaped member made of a first polymer. The first polymer has a first low melting point which is about a first temperature at a spaced location from the surface of the light bulb when it is lit. A volatilizable fragrance is combined with the first polymer for being volatilized from the first polymer when the ring member is exposed to the first temperature. A plurality of feet extend inwardly of the ring member for engaging the surface of a light bulb to maintain the ring member at the spaced location on the light bulb. These spacer feet are made of a second polymer having a second high melting point compared to the first low melting point. The second melting point is above a second temperature at the surface of the light bulb when it is lit.

Electric air freshener

A passive dispenser of volatile liquid fragrance composition from a container thereof. The container has an orifice at its bottommost point and an isotatic hydrophobic polypropylene membrane covering the orifice. The membrane permits passage of the liquid fragrance composition therethrough in the liquid phase in order to enable the composition of the liquid transmitted through the membrane to be substantially the same as that of the liquid within the container.

An acid cleaner composition to remove deposits capable of reacting with the acid and also forming thereby hydrogen sulfide, comprising from about 5 to 95% by weight of an acid having an ionization constant of at least about 1.75.times.10.sup.-5, and an effective amount of a hydrogen sulfide scavenger agent providing a cation reactive with hydrogen sulfide to form a water-insoluble sulfide, whereby a substantial portion of the hydrogen sulfide is converted to said insoluble sulfide. The cations include Cu.sup.+2, Pb.sup.+2, Cd.sup.+2, Sb.sup.+3, and Sn.sup.+4, while typical acids are sulfuric, sulfamic, and oxalic. Preferred ranges, for a drain cleaner composition, are from about 40 to about 95% acid by weight, and from 2 to about 10% scavenger agent by weight. The compositions may be in solid form, or as an aqueous solution, containing preferably from 2 to 80% water. Corrosion inhibitors and carbon dioxide generating agents may be included. In a particularly preferred embodiment, ammonium chloride may be incorporated in an amount of from 0.1 to 10% by weight.
