In one embodiment, a user interface system may execute an independent expression in a secondary code set to facilitate taking a dynamic object reading for a target composition object. The user interface system may execute a primary code thread and a secondary code thread for a user interface. The primary code thread may generate an independent expression resident in the secondary code thread. The independent expression may gather an input set resident in the secondary code thread for a target composition object. The secondary code thread may render the target composition object based on the input set.

Independent expression animations

Animations are displayed on a user interface (UI) of a computing device using one of multiple different animation system modes, each animation system mode operating in a different manner to determine how to change the display for an animation. The animation can be on a particular object that is displayed by the computing device (e.g., scrolling a list, moving an icon or character from one location to another) and/or can be on the display as a whole (e.g., panning or scrolling a view of the whole display). The multi-mode animation system operates to select an animation system mode on a frame by frame basis. For each frame of content being displayed on the display device, the multi-mode animation system selects an appropriate one of the animation system modes to use for generating the content of that frame.

Embodiments related to the non-uniform scrolling of a scrollable list displayed on a computing device display are disclosed. For example, one disclosed embodiment provides a method of operating a display comprising displaying a scrollable list of items that includes a first pair of list positions separated by a first spacing on the display, and a second pair of list positions separated by a second spacing that is different than the first spacing. The method further comprises detecting a movement of a manipulator from a first location to a second location, and in response, scrolling a first list item on the display between the first pair of list positions at a first scroll distance/manipulator movement distance correspondence, and scrolling a second list item between the second pair of list positions at a second scroll distance/manipulator movement distance correspondence.

Non-uniform scrolling

Various embodiments related to the revealing of truncated content on a scrollable grid are disclosed. One disclosed embodiment provides a computing device comprising a display, a processor, and memory comprising instructions executable by the processor to display a cell of a grid of content at a first, smaller size and display in the cell a content item that is truncated based upon the first, smaller size of the cell. The computing device is further configured to receive a request to scroll the grid, and scroll the grid on the display device. During scrolling, the size of the cell is increased to a second, larger size, and a revealing of a truncated portion of the content item is animated.

The present invention is collar for an ornamental light bulb in which the collar contains a phosphorescent material such that the light bulb emits light into the collar and stimulates the phosphorescent material within the collar to emit light. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the phosphorescent material is combined with a florescent dye to produce a miniature light collar containing a phosphorescent-florescent dye. Preferably, the collar is comprised of a low density polyethylene to promote flexibility of the collar to enable to fit over miniature bulbs of varying sizes. The present invention is further comprised of a plastic collar for a miniature light comprised of a cylinder having a series of slots cut into the cylinder such that the cylinder can expand to accommodate light bulbs of varying sizes.
