A belt tuning device to an accessory belt drive system (ABDS) that utilizes a torsional spring to connect the belt pulley to the shaft of a motor generator unit to isolate the system and allow the pulley to advance ahead of the motor or to be behind the motor. The tuning device also has a free running zone providing a decoupling function for the system, allowing the tuning device to be both a driver and a generator of power. The tuning device has all of the belt pulley, a spring retainer, a torsion spring, a stop ring, and a shaft fixed in relation to each other.

An isolating decoupler comprising a shaft, a pulley journalled to the shaft on at least one bearing, a one-way clutch engaged with the shaft, a torsion spring engaged between the one-way clutch and the pulley, the shaft comprises an inner race of the at least one bearing, and the torsion spring having an end welded to the one-way clutch and having another end welded to the pulley.

An isolator comprising a pulley having a pulley stop, a plate attached to the pulley, a shaft, the pulley journalled to the shaft, a torsion spring attached to the shaft, a damping member attached to the torsion spring, the damping member disposed between the plate and the pulley, and the damping member compressing a damping fluid against the pulley stop.

A tensioner comprising a base, a first tensioner subassembly pivotally mounted to the base, a second tensioner subassembly pivotally mounted to the base, a tensile member joining the first tensioner subassembly and the second tensioner subassembly, the first tensioner subassembly urged in a direction opposite the second tensioner subassembly, and a one-way clutch frictionally engaged with the first tensioner subassembly whereby a relative movement of the first tensioner subassembly away from the second tensioner subassembly is restricted for a first predetermined operating condition and a relative movement of the first tensioner subassembly toward the second tensioner subassembly is not restricted for a second predetermined operating condition.
