Provided is a one-piece injection molded part which is used to assemble an optical module, the one-piece injection molded part including: a plurality of plates and a plurality of living hinges. The plurality of plates includes an input faceplate, an output faceplate, a left side plate, a right side plate, a bottom plate and a lid plate and is integrally formed.

The present invention is related to a method of assembling a transition assembly and a transition assembly. The method described herein may comprise stripping a plurality of fibers at an end of a cable; splicing the plurality of fibers from the cable with a plurality of pigtails; and protecting the bare fiber with a cover. The transition assembly may comprise a fiber protection part and a cover that covers the fiber protection part. The fiber protection part may have openings.

The present invention relates to a cable retainer for attaching a connector to a fiber optic cable. The cable retainer includes at least a grooved anchor whereby a connector assembly formed of a connector and a cable can be aligned and secured through the anchor alone. The cable retainer may further comprise a crimp band that is slid over the anchor and connector assembly to secure aramid yarns, and to provide additional support to the connector assembly.

As networking demands only increase for both home and business uses, the need for a splitter balun which enables repositioning of coaxial connections in the non-axial directions and provides universal positioning to interface jacks is highly desirable. For some applications, the challenge is to provide a splitter which provides a means of repositioning input and output connections via an easy modification or manipulation of the splitter. For still further applications, it is desirable to securely mount the coax jack within the balun housing. The apparatus and method described herein meet these challenges and others, in part, by placing a bracket around the coaxial connection and providing multiple mounts for securing the bracket within the balun housing. Mounts are provided at opposite ends of the balun housing allowing the output connection direction to be readily reversed. The positive effects of this apparatus and method include having only one splitter balun on hand to connect to interfaces in either of opposite directions.

A first guide is provided through which a fiber optic cable enters the housing, along with a second guide through which the fiber optic cable exits the housing. The cover is moveable between an open and closed position, such that the cover forms a horizontally extending tray when in the open position. A splice tray mounting portion is provided within the housing with at least one splice tray. The closure is configured such that a loop of slack buffer tubes is wound around an inner circumferential area of the housing.
