A medical implement dispenser and disposal system is provided. The medical implement dispenser and disposal system comprises an enclosure having a body portion. A dispensing chamber within the body portion is configured to contain medical implements. A collection chamber within the body portion above the dispensing chamber is configured to collect soiled medical implements. The body portion defines an access opening positioned for passage of medical implements from the dispensing chamber and an inlet opening positioned for passage of soiled medical implements into the collection chamber, wherein the access opening is oriented in a forward facing direction and the inlet opening is also oriented in the forward facing direction. A barrier is positioned within the body portion to separate the dispensing chamber from the collection chamber. The barrier limits the passage of soiled medical implements from the collection chamber to the dispensing chamber.

A pharyngometer or similar wavetube-based apparatus which includes a wavetube which is detachable from the electronic platform. As the wavetube includes no electronic components, the wavetube can be sterilized thermally or chemically between patients without damaging the electronics of the electronic platform. The wavetube is attached to the electronic platform by a tab in the electronic platform which fits into a lateral groove within the wavetube. Similarly, a threaded member in the electronic platform engages a threaded aperture in the wavetube.

A device for dilating nasal passageway which includes a resilient bar having pads on opposite ends for insertion into respective nasal passageways and the bar when bent causes a biasing outward force on the pads to dilate the anterior section of the nasal cavity with said bar having notches thereon which can be selectively cut to reduce the bearing force on the pads.

A device for allowing visual examination of the swallowing of fluids by an infant which includes a nipple mounted housing, a feeding tube for feeding fluid into the nipple, openings in the nipple to allow the fluid to pass or be sucked therethrough, a further opening centrally located in the nipple through which an endoscope is passed to allow for such visual examination.
