A manual fuel pump device comprises a crank operated fuel pump in mechanical communication with a spring-loaded hand crank by means of a pump, pulley, and belt system. A dynamo is in mechanical communication with the belt thereby generating a useable electrical current. The device is configured to be an additional component of industry grade fuel dispenser permitting a user to operate the dispenser in the event of an electrical outage.

Manual fuel pump

A vacuum photodetector has been fabricated in a coplanar microstrip transmission line geometry to achieve high quantum efficiency and picosecond response time. The coplanar microstrip transmission lines, photocathode and anode, are mounted on an insulating substrate such as sapphire and are electrically biased with respect to each other. Photodetection occurs by classical photoelectric emission as a result of impinging photon energies exceeding the work function of the photocathode.

High speed photodetector having dual transmission line geometry

Apparatus for measuring the voltage waveform on the metallization lines of an integrated circuit is described. Short high powered pulses of light are coupled from a laser and focused on the metallization line of the integrated circuit which is coupled to receive a voltage waveform that is synchronized to the output laser pulses. Electrons are emitted from the metallization line due to the multiphoton photoelectronic effect induced by the pulses of light. An electron energy analyzer having a uniform extraction grid as its most remote element is positioned with the extraction grid as close as possible to the integrated circuit and the laser pulses are focused through one of the holes of this uniform grid. An output circuit is connected in a feedback arrangement which receives the output pulses of the energy analyzer and develops a voltage on a second uniform grid called the retarding grid that is positioned a predetermined distance from the extraction grid inside the electron energy analyzer. A sinusoidal voltage is superimposed on the signal provided to the retarding grid in order to eliminate the effect of noise components in the amplitude of the laser pulses.

High speed circuit measurements using photoemission sampling

An integrated optical device is disclosed which includes an integral photodetector exhibiting picosecond response times and quantum efficiences greater than about 30 percent. The photodetector includes a region of substantially amorphous semiconductor material interposed between two electrodes, with the electrode spacing being comparable to the average electron trapping length in the material between the electrodes. Preferably, at least one of the electrodes is a microstrip transmission line.

Integrated optical device having integral photodetector

A photodetector, and a method for detecting electromagnetic radiation, is disclosed. The photodetector includes a body which undergoes a detectable, internal physical or chemical change when exposed to electromagnetic radiation, as well as means for detecting this change. The photodetector also includes a substantially periodic surface which increases the efficiency with which incident electromagnetic radiation is coupled onto the photodetector.
