An air flow control system includes a plenum having an air inlet, a first air outlet, a second air outlet and a third air outlet, a vent door, an air guide, carried on the vent door, and an actuator. The actuator displaces the vent door between a first position closing the first air outlet and a second position opening the first air outlet. A unitary defroster system for a motor vehicle windshield comprises an instrument panel substrate, an HVAC supply source, and an air supply plenum in fluid communication with the HVAC supply source and terminating in a plurality of individually configured defroster nozzle ducts conjoined with the instrument panel substrate and aligned in a substantially linear row parallel to and proximate an interior surface of the windshield. The unitary defroster system is formed by an additive manufacturing process and at least two of the ducts are configured and arranged to deliver a different air flow to the interior surface of the windshield.

An example battery assembly includes, among other things, at least one thermal exchange device. Each thermal exchange device has a plurality of liquid coolant channels, a first side that supports at least one battery array, and a second side. A plurality of fins extend from the second side. A skid plate is adjacent the plurality of fins to establish a plurality of air coolant channels between the second side and the skid plate. An example thermal management method includes moving air through a plurality of air coolant channels established between a skid plate and at least one thermal exchange device. The thermal exchange device supports at least one battery array. The thermal exchange device includes a plurality of liquid coolant channels that communicate a liquid coolant to exchange thermal energy with the at least one battery array.

An apparatus for an interior vehicle compartment comprises a seat adapted for moving in a travel direction and a console coupled to the movable seat. The console may include one or more of the following: (a) a collapsible portion for collapsing as a body portion of the console travels with the movable seat in the travel direction; (b) a stepped interface for connecting with the movable seat; (c) a rear drawer with a tiltable door to facilitate access by rear passengers; and (d) a deployable holder for a mobile handheld computer. A stationary base may also be provided for supporting the console during movement, such as along guide rails, which base may contain HVAC components, such as ducts, or electronic components, such as wires. Instead of a mechanical connection using a stepped interface, the coupled movement may also be achieved by commonly controlled motors for the seat and console.

An assembly includes a display screen, a bracket for receiving and holding the display screen, a deformable mounting feature and a frangible mounting feature. The deformable mounting feature is adapted to absorb initial energy in the event of an impact to the display screen. The frangible mounting feature is adapted to further dissipate energy to the extent that the impact energy exceeds the ability of the deformable mounting feature to absorb it.

A cross-car beam is provided herein. The cross-car beam includes a composite elongated panel extending across a vehicle. A bracket is operably coupled with an elongated panel. An attachment feature and a cowl attachment structure are each integrally formed with the bracket and are disposed at opposing end portions of the bracket.

An armrest for a vehicle includes an armrest element and a floating support assembly configured for selectively pivoting the armrest element in a vehicle-fore and -aft motion. The floating support assembly includes at least one vertically translatable support arm pivotally attached to the armrest element. An inductive charging station is provided for an electronic device. The inductive charging station includes a housing, an inductive charging feature and a device latch that is carried on the housing. The device latch is displaceable between a charging position wherein the electronic device is held in position for efficient charging, and a presenting position wherein the electronic device is tilted forward for easy access and removal from the inductive charging station.
