The present invention relates to an anti-theft device capable of engaging a middle portion of a steering wheel containing an air bag device. This device includes an air bag cover having a front portion, a first side portion and a second side portion. The first side portion and the second side portion both extend backward from the front portion. A stabilizing member for engaging a steering column and attached to the first side portion of the air bag cover. A bracket member attached to the air bag cover for securing the air bag cover to the steering wheel.

An anti-theft device is disclosed which is adapted to be mounted to the steering wheel of a vehicle. The device includes a yoke member adapted to be positioned on the steering column. The yoke member includes a key housing shield adapted to cover and protect the key housing on the steering column when the device is mounted in place. The device further includes a bent bracket member having one end adapted to be mounted to the yoke member and another end adapted to engage with a spoke of the wheel to prevent rotation of the steering wheel in a predetermined direction.

A lockable coin chute assembly is mounted on a housing, and is secured thereto by a locking shaft supported within the housing. The assembly includes a chute flange which abuts against an outer wall of the housing when the assembly is in its mounted position. A separable headed member engages the outer surface of the chute flange, and has a shank portion with passes through aligned openings in the flange and the housing wall. The locking shaft threadedly engages with the headed member for removably securing the coin chute mechanism in its mounted position.

The present invention is directed to an improved locking mechanism for a money box assembly. The mechanism includes a fusible plastic cam which acts as a transmission member operatively connecting the lock to locking bolts. The bolts engage with the wall of a housing to which the money box assembly is mounted. The cam is formed of a material having a melting temperature substantially lower than the melting temperature of the material forming the lock. Any attempt to gain access to the money box by melting the lock and then operating the cam by a screwdriver or other tool will be frustrated since the drive cam linkage will have been destroyed or rendered inoperative by the heat thereby breaking the link between the lock and the locking bolts so that the money box assembly remains locked in place.

A cylindrical money box assembly that is received in a housing through a generally circular opening thereof and has a locking mechanism with a plate that is rotatable to position projecting portions in relation to a set of parts of the housing. In one position of the plate, corresponding to an unlocked state, the projecting portions are located to clear the set of housing parts allowing insertion of the money box assembly into the housing, and removal therefrom. In another position of the plate, corresponding to a locked state, the projecting portions engage and interfere with the set of housing parts to securely lock the money box assembly to the housing.
